Carla's POV
I kept my eyes firmly shut pretending to be passed out as David—oh, wait. His name is Zander—carried me to whatever place he decided to wander off to.
When I had felt my conciousness slipping back in, I freaked out when I could feel my body literally floating in the air like some crazy make-objects-fly kinda magic trick. But for the sake of staying alive, I kept acting as if I was still in a state of unconsciousness.
That woman whoever she was didn't particularly give me the 'good vibes'. And suddenly, David no longer had just an Alpha's son's aura.
It's like his aura had a switched from a high-ranked werewolf to something darker and shadier ever since we entered this place.
Ofcourse, it doesn't make sense but it is what it is.
An amused chuckle snaps me out of my preoccupied mind and that is when I realise that Zander wasn't walking anymore.
The fact as to why he is chuckling is a mystery to me but I keep pretending to be motionless.
"You really think I don't know you're awake?"
My eyes flutter ever so slightly at his equally amused words but I keep my resolute firm.
He must be lying. Just to get a reaction from me.
Good luck with that, kidnapper.
There's a long moment of silence before I feel him lowering me onto something soft—probably a couch or a bed.
"So she's really still in a half-dead state then?" He mused once he's done setting me down.
Even with my eyes shut, I could feel his gaze analyzing me.
"I should probably take advantage of the situation." There's an almost smug kinda sound lacing his voice which gets me all suspicious.
What advantage? He wouldn't do something—
And then I hear ruffling of clothes.
Oh. My. Goodness.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?!" My eyes voluntarily open in a snap and I splutter out the words flabbergastedly moving into a sitting position.
But.
But when I look at the man in question, he's fully clothed in a black shirt and black jeans—not a single piece of clothing missing. Instead, he's holding two spare shirts in his hands and staring at me with barely controlled laughter.
"I deserve an oscar for getting that look on your face." Zander laughs before throwing away the shirts on a couch and walking over to me.
I sit there gazing at him like a maniac as he settles himself on the bed next to me and stretches his hand forward to push away a lone strand of hair behind my ears.
"You'll be safe, Carla. I promise." He says in a barely audible voice.
That snaps me out of my stupor.
"Yeah, right. As if you aren't going to hand me over to your father and that crazy woman who wants me for god-knows-what reason." I lash angrily at him.
Zander runs a hand through his messy dirty-blonde hair before falling back on the bed, "Atleast I agree she's crazy." He says with a chuckle sparing me a glance, "Believe me, that woman won't give me the information I need so easily. And even if she does, you'll be safe."
"And how are you so certain?" I retort glaring down at him.
"You're under the demon prince's protection, ma chérie. You don't have to fret your pretty little head over such trivial matters."
