■Carla's POV■
I suppose to realise that a person you thought was dead long ago is actually alive should be shocking indeed.
Especially if that person happens to be your mother.
Add in the secrets she hid, the lies she spew and God knows what other things she did to hide her identity of being the Lycan Queen and the fact of her son being the prince, the in-line heir to the throne, and that prince having a twin sister is even more chaotic.
When Anthony claimed his mother-about whom he never speaks-is alive, the expression on Kaitlyn and Marilla's face mirrored horrified shock. Even Valerian seemed stunned for an eeny veeny moment before the blank mask was back on.
While all of them each carried different expressions of surprise/shock, I was like the kids---without a clue as to why they're so shooketh.
But then Kaitlyn had said their mother was dead, sorry killed, but that never happened since she's very much alive. That means, something happened years ago during the assassination-that's how their parents died, apparently-and Anthony's mother has been hiding something.
To all the questions we have, only one person could answer.
Charlotte.
Anthony's mother.
And we were going to get our answers from her.
Tomorrow we'll be heading towards north of Iris, where Charlotte resides in a posh neighbourhood, all alone.
Anthony's been quiet again.
One thing I've noticed about the man is that whenever there's something bothering that pretty little head of his, he goes dead silent and aloof. He doesn't speak about his own problems but he wishes to solve all of others problems.
Yes, yoda. Great work. My appreciation to you. But think about yourself first, you idiot!
My reverie comes to an end when I approach the room given to Anthony and me. One single room for both of us 'cause the dumb butler thought we're married. Even after clarification from Kaitlyn that, "they aren't married but will be soon," he didn't give us separate rooms.
With a resigned sigh, I pushed open the heavy wooden door and enter in.
Cami is sleeping in the children's room with Nora and Noah. Good atleast the kids seem to be having the fun of their lives.
I glance around the massive, beautifully marble washed room looking for my supposed fiancée but find the room empty and the balcony door open.
Walking as if I'm exhausted after running the whole day, I drag my feet towards the balcony where Anthony stood watching up at the stars aimlessly and yet seeming like he isn't watching the sky at all.
Anthony's dark brown hair is messily fallen over his forehead and half of his brown eyes probably hindering his view but he doesn't seem to care.
His elbows are propped atop the railing as the wind occasionally whips his hair away from his eyes only for the breeze to return and mess it up again.
He looks every inch of a princeling right now.
And all I want to do is brush away those hair hindering his face and stare at those hazel brown orbs I love so much.
Brushing the thought away, I walk over to him.
"What's so pretty in the sky that you can't seem to take your eyes off it?" I ask with sarcasm lacing my voice.
