Chapter 19

Lyle's POV

When I returned to the house, I was still in wolf form as I whined and whimpered on the ground. Luckily, Mom was outside, and when she saw me, she immediately grabbed a blanket and ran over to me.

"You need to shift back honey. Visualize your human self, and will your body to transform." She instructed and I did as she told. The shifting process in going back to human form didn't hurt, and I was buck naked but the blanket gave cover to my body.

I cried on Mom's chest as she held me. I couldn't stop the trembling that wrecked my body and I struggled to breathe from all the things I found out a while ago.

"Breathe Lyle! Breathe!" Mom rubbed circles on my back in panic, but it didn't do anything to calm my state.

"Derek! Boys!" Mom called out to them and I saw them running towards us as I blacked out.

I woke up feeling pain from all over my body. I groaned as I tried to shift position in bed.

"Hey." Mom whispered and caressed my cheek with her thumb. I slowly opened my eyes and saw everyone inside my room.

"What happened?" I asked and tried to sit up, but the pain all over my body prevented me from doing so.

"Easy there." Dad said and quickly sat at the end of my bed.

"Well, you passed out from hyperventilating. It's almost noon now." Xavier answered and patted my thighs.

"I think we should be the ones asking you your question." Mom said and they all looked at me with worry.

The events that happened last night suddenly flooded my mind, and my eyes began to water as my body began to shake.

"Hey, hey, it's ok, you don't need to tell us right now." Dustin held my hand and Jake and Xavier massaged my aching legs. God I love my family.

I bawled my eyes out from all the love they're giving me, and I asked myself why couldn't he, my own mate, show me any.

Mom hugged me and all of them grew concerned every passing second.

"I-I..fou-nd my Ma-Mate." I managed to choke out in between my cries and all of their eyes widened at my words.

"Are you sure honey?" Mom asked in disbelief, and I knew where she was coming from. She told me it was years before she met Dad, and I knew that finding your mate was a very hard thing to do. You should consider yourself lucky when you find your mate fast, but for me, this wasn't luck, it was a curse.

"I'm sure Mom." I sniffled and hugged my pillow tight. The tears started to form again as I buried my face into the pillow.

"Then why are you crying? What's wrong?" She asked and I clenched my fists.

"Everything you said about your mate loving you and filling your life with happiness is pure bullshit mom." I didn't bother to filter out my words as I spouted it out.

"What do you mean Son? Did he do something to you?" I turned my head to face Dad and smiled sadly at him.

"He's the guy I've always hated since we were kids Dad. He bullied me for being weak, and He was the one who did all those things to me at the party." I told them and their expressions hardened after hearing me out.

"You don't know how I feel right now. Everything is happening so fast and I don't know how to deal with it! First my shifting, and now this? It's my fucking Birthday for fucks sake! Why can't I be happy at my own Birthday?!" I screamed and they were taken aback at my words and tone. I've never shouted at my family, but right now, I didn't know what to do. Dad growled lowly while my older brothers broke anything that they touched.
