Lyle's POV
I woke up in time to get ready for school. I picked out the outfit I'm going to wear and decided for a printed black shirt I'll tuck underneath, and dark green cargo pants together with some white rubber shoes.
I quickly ate breakfast and said goodbye to my family, kissing all of their cheeks.
I got inside of my Red Jaguar XE and drove off to school. Malcolm and Chelsea waited and saved a parking spot for me in between their cars.
"Morning' guys!" I greeted them, stepping out of the car and closing the door.
"Sooo, ready for your first day?" Chelsea asked and hooked arms with me.
"He's gonna kill it. He always does! He's just being humble and all." Malcolm said in a singsong tone and hooked his arm around my shoulders.
"Thanks guys." I told them and silently laughed.
As we made our way through the parking lot, i received a couple of stares. Well, I expected that. Courtesy of being the only new student.
What I didn't expect was that, when we entered and passed through the big hallway, people didn't even bother to hide that they were looking, gawking or staring at me. Some were murmuring and whispering amongst themselves. A couple of guys whistled at me but Malcolm shot them a look and they stopped. Eyes followed me as I walked to my locker.
"That went well." Malcolm said flatly as he and Chelsea removed their hold on me.
"It couldn't have gotten worse." I told them and rested my back against the cold metal of my locker.
"Well, based from the looks they gave you? I say you're going to survive." Chelsea said hypothetically.
"Is that supposed to make me feel better? Cause it's not working." I threw my hands up in the air and shook my head.
"Well, if someone picks on you, I bet a dollar that you'll be the one walking out unscathed. You're a feisty little thing!" Malcolm confidently told me and poked me on the side, making me giggle.
"Well then, I'll see you guys at lunch! Don't wanna be late on my first day." With that, we went to our classes. My first subject for the day was biology. I searched for the room and found it a couple of minutes later. I knocked, and the door opened revealing a middle aged woman probably in her forties, named Mrs. Howard.
"Ah! Mr. Hattaway. You're just in time! Please, do come in." Mrs. Howard invited me inside, and again, all eyes were on me.
"As I've told you earlier, we have a new transfer student. This is Mr. Lyle Hattaway, I hope you'll be good to him and cater to his needs." She introduced me and I stood confidently, not sinking to the pressure in the air.
"You can sit besides....Ah! Mr. Anderson." She pointed to the seat in the far back next to the window, where a guy with chestnut hair, brown eyes, wearing rimmed glasses, and reading a book was seated.
I walked through the couple of tables and made my way to the seat beside the window. I placed my bag beside me, and sat down. The guy next to me didn't make eye contact and was slouched down in his seat reading his book.
Here goes nothing...
"Hi." I said to him. He perked up and turned to face me, then looked around.
"Were you talking to me?" He asked and pointed at himself, looking shocked.
"Um, Yeah." I laughed and wondered if he didn't hear me.
"O-Oh I-Im I-Im Sorry! I-I d-didn't kno-" He stuttered and panicked to get words out.
"I'm Lyle. I'm the new student? And you are?" I cut him off before he could say anything more.
"O-Oh hi! I'm Isaac A-Anderson." He replied and arranged his glasses. I got the feeling that he doesn't talk much because of the way he stutters while speaking.
After we introduced ourselves, we talked about things and he told me stuff about the school. He even offered to teach me if I ever needed help and I knew from that moment on that he was a good person. We instantly became friends and chatted for hours.
As soon as the bell rang and the professor left, people swarmed around my seat and asked questions. Isaac immediately stood up and ran away. Before I could reach him, my view was blocked.
"Are you really from Italy?"
"Was it nice there?"
"How about the weather?"
"I love your outfit, where did you get that?"
"Is that a Gucci bag?"
"Can you speak Italian?"
"I heard the food there was great!"
I was bombarded with questions from everyone and I did my best to answer and forced a smile. By the time we were done, I was worn out.
I made my way to the Cafeteria, and Malcolm and Chelsea were already seated. I got my lunch before sitting between them.
"Rough day?" Chelsea winced at my appearance and gave me a worried look.
I rested my head on the table and blew out the piece of hair that touched my eyes.
"Come here." Malcolm gestured me to come closer and so I did.
He massaged my shoulders and my nerves quickly began to loosen and relax. I swear, this guy's hand is magic.
"I love you guys." I sighed happily before closing my eyes.
"I know what will cheer you up!" Chelsea exclaimed excitedly. I peeked at her and raised a brow.
"There's a party at Zion's house tonight, and there's booze." That got me up in no time. We looked at each and other in understanding and squealed.
"What are you two planning in those crazy head of yours?" Malcolm squinted his eyes at us and folded his arms across his chest.
"You'll see." I told him and started eating my meal. They quickly joined me and by the time we were done eating, the bell rang.
"Catch up with you guys later." I told them and headed for my next subject.
As I walked down the crowded hallway, I bumped into someone.
"I'm so so-" My words got cut off when I saw it was Adrian who I bumped into. He looked down at me and clicked his tongue.
"Still waiting for that apology Lyle." He smirked and I resisted the urge to snap at him. I exhaled deeply and put on the best fake smile I got.
"I'm so sorry for bumping into you. It's really my fault that there are a lot of students walking down this hallway after lunch." I smiled and sarcastically told him.
His smirk quickly died down and I saw a muscle ticked in his jaw. I can definitely see he's pissed because of the power radiating off of him. I stood my ground and looked at him in the eyes. This only pissed him off more because he released a large amount of power.
You see, Alpha's hate to be denied. It's a must for them to make others submit.
It took everything in me to prevent myself from falling down to my knees. I quickly averted my gaze, knowing full well that he's more powerful than me. I decided to walk past him but he grabbed my elbow.
"Next time you piss me off, I'll show you not to cross me ever again." I pulled away from his grip and glared at him before walking away.
Yeah, I'm really gonna need that drink.
