Chapter 30

Lyle's POV

It's the 3rd week of our training and I was starting to get better at fighting while in wolf form. Adrian and I trained everyday and he taught me everything I needed to learn, from offense to defense.

"Hey babe have you seen my-"

A howl interrupted what I was about to say to Adrian, and it was followed by another. We heard the message loud and clear as the moonguard shifted to their wolves and dashed to the border.

"They're here." Adrian and I both said in unison and looked at each other nervously.

"We need to-"

"You need to stay here. I'm going to go help them." He ordered me and quickly shifted into his wolf form when he got outside.

I was taken aback by his words because he of all people, knew how much I improved from our training.

"Like hell I'll stay." I said and was about to go to the door when Mom blocked my path.

"Mom, what are you doing?" I asked her and she closed the door behind her.

"Your Dad and brothers are already there, and so is Adrian. You need to stay inside because you'll only endanger yourself if they see you." She told me as she held my hand. I furrowed my brows at her but I could see that she was really worried about me.

"Mom, I'll stay away and help them from a distance. I won't shift into my wolf but I'll help them with my ability. Please." I begged her to let me go and I saw her eyes wavered when she saw the determination in mine.

"Please." She sighed in defeat and grabbed me by the shoulders.

"Promise me Lyle. Promise me that you won't go near them. I'll only let you go if you do." She looked me straight in the eye and I could see all seriousness in her.

"I swear." We hugged each other tight before she let me to the door.

"Be careful." She placed a hand on her chest and another hand on my cheek as she said those words to me. I nodded my head and smiled at her before I sprinted to the border.

Adrian's POV

They're here.

Those words were the only thing that crossed my mind as I ran to the border in my wolf form.

I heard teeth snapping at each other and growls coming from both sides. The border finally came into view and it was chaos.

I could pinpoint 10 rogues and 15 of our pack members in a battle with each other. The moonguard were trained for this moment and they double teamed on one rogue, going for the kill.

They didn't care about playing fair, because those rogues were the one who attacked us and went for my mate.

I growled as the rogue tackled a pack member to the ground. He was about to bite his shoulder but I lunged for the rogue before he could do any damage.

We rolled on the ground and snapped our teeth at each other. I resulted on top of him and instantly went for his neck, snapping it into two.

He fell lifeless to the ground and transformed back to his human form before I dashed past him.

I could see Lyle's Dad and older brothers gaining the upper hand from the fight and I stopped when I saw a member of the moonguard, injured and bleeding from the big rogue's bite.

Their leader.

I was about to engage him in a battle when suddenly, a huge wolf of my color jumped high into the air and pinned the rogue leader to the ground. Dad.
