Lyle's POV
Training for weeks took a toll on my body, but I was able to get stronger and control my ability while in human form. Since my instructor didn't really know what to teach me, I asked Alpha Blake to lend me the archive of the snow wolves to learn more about my given ability. He hesitated to let me borrow the book but gave up when Luna Rose told him to.
The book contained a lot of information about my kind and it really helped me a lot in harnessing my power. I noticed that some of the pages were ripped out of the book but I didn't ask about it.
During my first tries in controlling my ability, I had severe headaches and I was drained. The book said, you and your wolf need to be one for it to work. Have a clear mind and focus. Feel the connection take place and will your power to go beyond you.
Alpha Blake observed me in training and pointed out things I needed to improve on. After some time, I was able to move objects like my pillows, plates, keys, glasses, and my lamp. I could move multiple objects at the same time but when It came to living beings, I could only move them one at a time. I guess even my ability has limits.
I was currently in the living room eating pizza and Adrian was seated beside me.
"Lyle, we're going to borrow your mate. We'll just play innocent football." Xavier said and came out of the kitchen. Dustin and Jake soon followed and grinned at each other.
"I'll be back." Adrian said to me as he held my hand and squeezed it. He stood up and nodded his head at my brothers.
"It's finally time! This is going to be fun!" Jake said excitedly and smiled at me.
"Just don't go too overboard guys." I reminded them and they whistled. Why do I feel like I'm leaving him to the wolves?
"Let's go." Dustin said and Adrian waved at me before all four of them left.
"Finally! Some alone time with my precious son." Mom came out of nowhere and plopped down on the seat beside me.
"Hi Mom! Sooo, I guess this is the talk you've been waiting for?" I asked her and she nodded her head.
"I just want to ask how things are going. With him." She said and emphasized the second sentence. I turned to face her and looked in her eyes.
"It's going pretty well Mom. He's really trying his hardest and being patient with me. He said that he's willing to wait for as long as it takes." I told her and she smiled as she took my hands in hers.
"I think he really did change, honey. He changed for you. And that's not an easy thing to do. You should really be proud of your mate, He's a nice guy." She praised him for his effort and I nodded my head at her words.
"He told me he loves me, and I believe him, I do. But I can't help but doubt, and I don't know if I feel the same way. I like him Mom, and I'm happy when I'm with him. But can you already call that love?" I asked her and she shifted in her seat.
"You're the only one who can answer your own question. Know what your heart says when you're with him. Ask yourself if you'll be able to live without him now that you know his touch, his warmth, his care, and his love for you. When you see him happy, does it make you happy? When you see him sad, does it hurt you? And When he says he loves you with all his heart, does it make you feel like the most luckiest person in the world?" She explained to me and hugged me.
"Love is the most powerful weapon you can conjure. It's selfless. He truly loves you when you're happiness is more important than his own. He loves you if he's able to accept you even with your flaws. He loves you if he gives you freedom, and let's you go when you want to. Even if it hurts him. Love is a sacrifice honey. Never doubt it." She whispered into my ear and kissed the side of my head.
