I was in the hospital for three days. About the time my parents got off work, my mom messaged me asking if I was home and I had to tell her where I was. Her and dad came by the first night to make sure I was ok. Tandy came in while they were there and reassured them I would not be there long.
On the third day he came in with a script. He told me when I was discharged that I needed to take one pill every eight hours for a week. I'm currently at my house writing out a list of things I need to get. My truck was totaled. My uncle and grandfather pitched in to buy me a new vehicle for school.
My uncle paid my truck off and wanted to fix it up if it wasn't badly damaged. I got what I needed for Christmas and was about to make arrangements to get myself and Bentley back to Vernon when Ranger called asking if I needed a lift. I was so glad he had asked before I had to call someone.
He helped me load my horse in a trailer and drove me to Vernon. Then helped me unload Bentley and drove me to the house. I kissed his cheek before going into the house and up to my room. When I looked out the window near the stairs he was gone. I'll see him in Odessa.
The rest came back within the week before classes started. I was still having trouble with my left hip and getting up and down the stairs was misery. Bailie was wondering if I had gotten in an accident. The boys were to. I told them about the first time I injured my hip and then four days before Christmas.
"So now, I've got a limp. I don't know when it will stop. I just need to be careful at Odessa if it has not stopped by then and at later rodeos." I told them. "I saw you did not have a vehicle." Winston said.
"Yeah. I caught a ride with someone." I told him. "Let's get you a vehicle then." He said. "I might get a car and have them put a hitch on it." I told them. "You will need a car." Josh said. I nodded.
First my truck at the beginning of sophomore year now the new truck I just bought, lets hope this next one stays with me for ten plus years. My uncle agreed to pay over half of what I need for the vehicle. I went to the dealership and got my next vehicle. The one that showed me my last vehicle helped me find my new one.
This time I got a ford escape with a ball hitch for a bumper pull. Well, Ranger actually used my two horse bumper pull to help me get Bentley to Vernon now I can use a car to get Bentley to and from college.
It was really nice too. My uncle sent me over half of what I needed, and I worked a deal with the dealership for warranty and maintenance. I signed the paperwork, got the keys, and drove it to the house.
I sent a picture to my parents and let my housemates ride in it with me. I packed for two days after checking my email seeing there was a jackpot in Davidson, Oklahoma being held by a friend that I did PRCA with during the summer.
I went outside putting the hitch on my car and getting the ball on. Winston came out asking where I was going. "One night Jackpot in Davidson. Wanna go?" I asked. "Nah. Think I will stay here." He said. I opened the hatch and folded the back seats down before going and loading my stuff in.
Only one jackpot in January and it is a roping jackpot. I knocked on Bailies door. She didn't answer. "Bailie, money!" I yelled over her music with the door shut. She opened the door with a duffle on her shoulder.
"I got the email! I was hoping you wouldnt leave without me." She said. She and I bounded down the stairs and out to my car. She threw her bag in the backseat and we both went to get the horses and trailer. "The trailer has no bed but has two twin blowup beds we can blow up." I told her.
She nodded. We went to load the horses and got on the road. It was less than a twenty minute drive there. We unloaded the horses, got signed up and got them ready. I changed into some jackpot clothes and threw on a rope like a girl ball cap.
Bailie probably did not want to take this seriously, but I needed the money even though my uncle just bought me my next vehicle. This was starting my spring semester and I was ready to get past it.
