Chapter: 22

I finally decided to do online courses for my junior year of college to get my RN and work on my bachelors degree. All summer I was talking to Ranger about what I should do. He didn't care if I moved in with him or stayed at Vernon to get my RN there. Come spring though I will be going back out to rodeoing. I may even try to get on with the medical team with PRCA.

For now, I'm traveling and getting money to pay for school. To be honest every night we do not have sex. Its mostly cuddling and holding each other at night or early in the morning. It began to get to where we will do it about once a week to once a month. He does not mind and actually enjoys not doing it as much as he uses to.

I'm currently doing my classwork while Ranger is pacing back and forth in front of the bed with him phone to his ear talking to the one parent he did not want to talk to. Him and his dad are on the best basis with each other, but after what his mom did to me, he has a bigger hate for her than when we met.

He hung up and was about to throw his phone when I reminded him. "You throw it, you have to go through the trouble of getting a new phone babe." He sighed before tossing it on the bed. I picked it up, unlocked it and blocked his mothers number for two months. I turned his phone off and set it down next to me about a foot away. "My dad will be calling in a minute." He said.

"Go cool off and if you missed his call, call him back when you get back up here." I told him. He sighed before going out of the room and downstairs. My phone started ringing. I looked at it seeing it was Rangers dad. "Hello?" "Afternoon Remi. Is Ranger near his phone?" He asked. "No sir he is not. I sent him away from his phone to cool off." I said.

"His mother is still trying to contact him." He said. "He does not want to speak to her even more since she threw a punch at me the last time we both saw her." I said. "I thought so. She's been blocked on his phone hasn't she?" He asked. "Yes sir. He needs a break from that crazy woman." I said. "Don't do anything hasty Remi." He said. "I will not do anything to her as long as she does not do anything to me." I said.

He said goodbye before hanging up. Ranger came back into the room and laid down on the bed next to me. He has all morning classes, so he gets the afternoon off. I did not say anything to him as I finished my last paragraph. He was first to speak. "My dad called you didn't he?" He asked. "I guess after you didn't answer your phone once." I told him.

He moved closer to me. "Yes or no baby." He said. "Yes, he called me. I told him what was going on and he didn't care." I told him. "He told you not to start anything didn't he?" He asked. "Yup. And like I've told you, if she starts it, I will finish it." I told him.

He moved my laptop as I finished, saved my work, and set it aside. He then wrapped his arms around my waist burying his head in my stomach. I wrapped my legs around his waist. He pulled me under him. I wrapped my arms around his neck. He kissed my cheek. We stayed like that for a while until one of his buddies decided to knock on his door. He looked at the door before getting up to answer it.

"What do you want?" He asked as he opened the door. I didn't hear what his buddy was saying. I did not hear Ranger's reply to what his buddy was saying. Ranger backed up before closing the door back. "What was that about?" I asked him.

"They want us to join them for dinner at a poolhall tonight." He said. "Which one?" I asked. I remembered the Vernon team had gone to one and it was not that great of a place even though the bar selection was on point. "The usual place, Crickets." He said. "Have not been there before." I said.

"I'm sure you will like it." He said. "Maybe." I said.
