The air was filled with an eerie silence as the exchange occurred. It was supposed to be a peaceful, fair exchange.
Two of theirs for two of ours.
But that's not what happened.
A gunshot filled the air as she fell, lifeless.
She was dead.
Shock, tears and screams echoed through the hall.
His heart broke as soon as he saw the blood.
He reached out and killed the one who ended her life.
It was only 1 second, but it felt like hours had gone by.
It was as if the sun had suddenly disappeared from the sky, only leaving darkness.
The exchanged occurred, but now it was only two, for one.
The group left, the girl in his arms, only to be faced with a bright-eyed sister ready to see her long lost friend. When she saw he was carrying her, dead in his arms. She broke.
The group had lost so many people, but when she died, It was as if death had ripped everyone's heart out, leaving them with an open wound that couldn't be healed.
She was a leader, a fighter, and a friend.
She was Beth Greene.

2 Hours Later:
Daryl Dixon POVThey were all sad but had accepted the fact that she was gone.
I couldn't, I was in a state of denial, shock, and anger.
I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned around to see Rick, teary-eyed.
"It's time."
He only spoke two words, but they held so much meaning.
She was going to be stuck under the dirt never to be heard or seen again. No one would even know who Beth was.
I turned around and hit him. As hard as I could . So much force was held in just one hand.
The rest of the group looked. Half went to me, half went to Rick.
Then I started crying, so many emotions were held inside of me. I was shocked on how many could be released upon one persons death.
A couple of minutes had passed and me and Rick were both calmed down.
I slowly walked over to the pit. It was only 3 feet deep but I felt like it was bottomless. And when we would place her in she would fall, never to stop.
They brought her over, she looked beautiful. Sasha had done her hair, and Maggie fixed her clothes.
It looked like she was never hurt, never shot, so innocent.
They lowered her in, we all watched. Tears in our eyes, thoughts flooding through our brains.
Then they started, Maggie tried to speak some words, but couldn't stop crying. The rest of the group spoke a few words on how she was the candle that helped us find our ways out of the darkness.
I chose not to speak.
Rick and Glen both picked up shovels, ready to bury her. They both picked up dirt and she started to disappear. Shovel by shovel her face and clothes were gone.
After they finished burying it was dark. They all started to make a tent or find an empty car to lay in.
I couldn't sleep.
I stayed with Beth, until I couldn't take it anymore.
I was going to leave. I couldn't take my loved ones dying. I needed to travel on my own.
Then I heard a soft thumping...
