Chapter 3: Dominic
Tap.Tap.Tap.
Dominic's fingers strummed against his bedside table, they played a background tune as he hummed. His eyes kept closed, and although he looked comfortable laying back on his bed, Dom was ready to spring. He was excited, no ecstatic for today. Today was his first day helping his Mother and Father at the station. They both worked together as FireFighters, both placed on a high level force due to their abilities. His Mother contained the ability to move objects with her mind, however, due to the high concentration needed to keep objects levitating it can only last for a few minutes at most. Then Dom's Father withholds the ability to create frost. This power is of great use with the force, for it can be used to preserve things, but to also help put out fires.
FireFighters are high in demand for the city of Ville Du Feu, due to the overwhelming amount of gangs that roam the city. The overlords, known as the Hue family, are Arsonists that will set fire to anything, whether that be for their own benefit or just for fun.
Dominic sighed, stopped tapping, and turned to his side. No matter how much he day dreamed, he was never sure he'd reach his goal. He wished to be like his parents, people who made an impact on the world by saving people. It wasn't that he lacked drive, but simply he lacked focus, and the right ability. For his younger sister, Vivian, she had many options for she could create snow at will. Dom knew opportunities would open up for her as soon as she reached high school, but for him? None had come his way. Yet. He had to believe something was waiting for him, some kind of hopeful future.
"Dominic?" The light knock on his door allowed a smile to play on his lips as he hopped from his bed.
"Yes Ma?" He called to her in a sing-song voice. He was basically bouncing on the balls of his feet as he began to get dressed.
"Time for work hun, be down in 5 minutes." Dominic was ready, today was the day to start to prove to himself and everyone else that he would be someone who changed the world. Yet little did he know, today would be the day that changed his life forever.
