"Mary!" My thirteen-year-old self screamed.
I frantically sat up after the terrifying memory and started weeping. Rick must've noticed my distress and proceeded to rub his face on mine as if to communicate with me that it's okay. I started to pack up and put Thomas back on the dragon while I watched the sunrise turn the sky a tinge of pink with purple highlights mix together, over the canyon. When we took off, it was about noon when we started to fly over the virginia state line.
Once we landed I immediately sensed something was off. We were in a forest, with fluorescent green grass, rolling hills with flowering trees, and roaring rivers free of pollution. I couldn't help but wonder why it looked this way in the middle of autumn. I followed the trail holding Thomas tightly in my arms.
We came out to a clearing of a luxurious white marble academy on the banks of a waterfall as tall as the angel falls. I noticed children wearing a multitude of different color uniforms along with different symbols. I monouvered out of the way as a group of girls wearing different clothes got on a bus that randomly appeared. When I looked to my left, I saw girls playing around in the shallow water and to my right, I saw boys playing ball. I noticed the sun gradually lowering surrounding the academy with pink and orange hues bringing out the white contrast of the building, and decided that we would camp among the millions of trees.
After making camp, I set Thomas down in a manger and started gathering food and water while Rick laid by Thomas, observing him as a parent would for their young. When I returned from the stream with freshwater and a plentiful amount of fruit, I noticed Rick was asleep and someone strange was picking up Thomas. I caught sight of a stick lying beside my foot and threw it at her thinking of a massive net you would use to catch fish and to my disbelief the once stick turned into a net tremendous enough to capture a lion and hold them tight.
"Agh!" The mysterious lady screamed. I picked up Thomas and tore deeper into the woods towards the stream when I noticed two children running out to aid the women I just entrapped. They set up lanterns around the woman in a circle so I was able to catch the appearance of at least one is a boy and one girl. The boy took out a pure black sword with a sliver of scarlet red when the light touched it. He raised it above his head and right when he was about to slam it down the girl screamed.
"Stop," she commanded with authority, "you could hurt her!" The girl stepped into the light and I noticed her features. Her skin is so pale you could mistake it for being transparent with luxurious faint blond hair the tips dyed a chic pink. Her hair curled into an elegant bun with strands of curls fraying out. She wore an exquisite pink nightdress. The thing that struck me odd was her eyes, a moonlight silver. Her hand was raised to stop the boy who still hid amongst the shadows.
"I wasn't aiming for the headmistress, just the bonds." he said gently to the young lady walking towards her to where I could see him. He had glorious ocean blue eyes, his skin seemed of a light tan. He brought his hand up to fix his night sky black hair with golden ray of sunlight highlights. He wore a faded cotton black t-shirt tight enough to see the muscle hidden underneath although it was a clear attempt he was trying to hide that. He had black flannel pajama pants with what looked like skulls in the small loops. Hoping to capture them as well, I threw a stick at the boy.
"Ow!" He exclaimed with his hands rubbing his shoulders. "Who threw that stick at me?" He hollered, surveying the improbable trees coated in shadows. I saw the girl whisper something to him and slowly her figure was so indistinct, you could mistake her for one of the many shadows. I remembered that I was wearing a worn blue nightdress and was embarrassed to be caught in my night clothes however, an abrupt charcoal colored sword addressed my pale neck in an unruly manner.
