I set up a Grindr account for myself. I didn't really know if it was a good idea at first but I decided it was best to move on from Mickey. He obviously didn't want anything to do with me and wasn't even gay. Yeah, I gotta admit that it was hard the first few weeks that he ran away but it got normal after a couple more. Who knows, maybe this will be permit. Maybe that's for the best.

I already had a date, we were going to go to a restaurant across town. Noel would be coming over to watch Layla. Noel had been getting better so I said that he could start visiting us once in a while. Layla watched me in the mirror button up my shirt.

"What?" I said laughing looking at her in the mirror.

"You are dressing up. You look fancy," she said laughing.

"I've got a date," I said fixing my shirt and sitting down on my bed.

"What are you going to do when Mickey comes back?" she asked handing me socks.

"I don't know. I'll probably just ignore him," I said putting my socks on.

"Yep," she says grabbing her bag.

"I'm ready to go!" she said waiting by the door.

"Meet me outside," I said putting on my shoes.

"Okay," she said running down the stairs.

I ran downstairs and grabbed my wallet.

I went outside and Layla was sitting on the porch. A car pulled up.

"Who's that?" Layla asked turning to me. My mouth was dropped on the ground.

It was Mickey's mom.

"Mickey's mom," I said pretending like I didn't see the car.

"Ian, honey is that you?!" she said jumping out of the car.

"Oh uhhh, Mickey's mom. Didn't see you there," I said turning around.

"Call me Kelsey," she said with a big smile on her face.

"Oh okay,"

"Is this you and Mickey's kid?" she asks looking down at Layla and smiles. How would it even be me and Mickey's. We are both boys.

"No, this is my sister Layla. Anyways, why are you here?" I asked.

"Hi Layla. I'm here because I'm wondering why you haven't visited Mickey yet on the South Side," she said.

"Mickey's on the South Side?" I asked.

"Yeah, he has been for a while. Months. You didn't know?" she said sitting down beside Layla.

"No, I thought he just went off somewhere with his dad or something," I said confused.

"Mick is saying at my apartment on the South Side. Here's the address," she said handing me a paper and she ran back to her car and drove away.

I stayed quiet. "Let's go," I said to Layla.

I drove to the address that Noel messaged me and it took me to a little townhouse. I ran the doorbell and heard someone rush down the stairs. Noel opened it up. He looked the same.

"Hey," he said.

"Hey, thanks for watching her," I said as she rushed inside.

"No problem. You are dressed up. What's the occasion?" he asked.

"I have a date," I said nervously.

"Cool, what's his name?" he asked.

"Cameron," I said surprised that he wasn't beating me up.

"Cool," he said.

"Yeah, I think I'm going to head out now," I said as I got into my car and drove away. I starred at the address that Mickey's mom gave to me and back at my phone.

"Hey, I'm going to be late. Lots of traffic," I texted Cameron.

"Okay, no problem," he responded immediately.

I looked at the address.

136 Panye Street (apartment 75)

I start driving and don't look back.
