The Diagnosis {10}

"Tadashi," his mother cried, sitting beside his hospital bed, holding his hand.

She prayed silently, "please... let my Tadashi be ok."

Suga sat in the waiting room after letting everyone in the volleyball groupchat know.

Hinata: 🙀 im coming

Suga: they're only letting immediate family in at the moment

Hinata: Kageyama and I are still coming

That was about 30 minutes ago. The front doors opened to reveal the tangerine haired boy with his black haired friend.

"Still not letting anyone else in," Suga informed as his teammates approached him.

"What happened exactly?" Hinata asked, taking a seat by his co-captain.

"We were on our way to practice and he just passed out and fell down the stairs," Suga informed, "he wouldn't wake up and he stopped breathing so I had to give him CPR while his mom called an ambulance. Thank goodness, I know CPR and am certified because if I didn't, Yamaguchi would have died for sure. Thats what the EMT's said."

"Thats so scary," Hinata commented while Kageyama just nodded.

The door slide open again.

"Tadashi!"

Suga looked up seeing Tsukishima run into the hospital.

"Tsukishima!" Suga called out to him as Tsukishima walked up to the three, "they won't let us in yet."

"Damn it."

"You have to be quieter, Stingyshima, it is a hospital," Hinata informed.

"I know that," Tsukishima glared before sitting on the other side of Suga, "I cant help, but feel like this is my fault."

Suga grumbled, "its neither of your faults! Its not Yamaguchi's and its not yours!"

Tsukishima was surprised when Suga snapped at him.

"Are you here with Yamaguchi, Tadashi?" A doctor walked to the four.

They nodded.

"Alright, come with me, im only going to let two in at a time as to not stress him out," the four got up and followed the doctor to Yamaguchi's room.

"Tsukishima and I will go first and then you two," Suga informed Hinata and Kageyama.

Hinata nodded.

Suga and Tsukishima entered the room.

"He has stress cardiomyopathy," the doctor informed, "also known as, broken heart syndrome."

"I caused this.." Tsukishima muttered.

Suga looked over at Tsukishima before patting his back, "its ok."

"We don't know when he'll wake up, but it was triggered by a stressful or emotional event," the doctor continued, "so, his heart's ability is curbed. Meaning his heart doesn't pump as well as before and his left ventricle gets weak and stops pumping but its only temporary. The coronary arteries can spasm which explains why his heart stopped earlier. You're lucky we got him here because this is about as deadly as a heart attack, but he should be fine."

"Thank you, Doctor," His mother thanked.

"You say he plays volleyball," the doctor turned to Suga who nodded, "he can't play for about two months. His heart should be back to normal after about 4 weeks, but it'll take about 2 months before he is fully recovered. I will get medicine prescribed for you."

The doctor left the room.

The room was silent until sniffling was heart.

"Tsukishima?" Suga turned to Tsukishima who walked to Yamaguchi, leaning on his bed handle.

"Im so sorry, Tadashi," he cried silently, tears falling down his cheek.
