Calling Jack

Chapter 11

In The Living Room
Ty sat there silently.
"Can Ty and I have a minute," Jack asked.
"Of course," Said Clint.
Clint stands up and leaves the living room.
"Ty I heard him threatening you," Jack said.
Ty sighs.
"I know, he hit me too," Ty said, sadly.
"He what!?" Jack asked, shocked.
"He-he slapped me because I brought up Jace," Ty said, sadly.
"Ty I know he's your dad and you love him but... I can't let you go back there, You know he's going to make you drop the charges," Jack said.
"I know," Ty said with sigh.
"So are we going to tell him?" Jack asked, softly.
"I don't know... Jack how can I send my dad to jail too?!" Ty asked devastated.
"You won't, I will I was the one who heard him threatening you," Jack said Softly.
Ty just sat there at a loss. Jack got up off the chair and walked into the kitchen.

In The Kitchen
Jack walks into the kitchen while Clint is getting a glass of water.
"Clint can I have a word?" Jack asked.
"Of course," Clint said.
"Ty was scared to say anything but I heard Brad threatening him and yelling him at that he will drop the charges on his mom and Wade whatever punishment he got for that was his own problem..." Jack explained.
"Did you see anything?" Clint Questioned.
"I did see him yelling at Ty and Ty told me Brad slapped him when he brought up Jace," Jack explained.
"Will Ty say anything to me?" Clint Questioned.
"No, he feels guilty to send them to jail, but Clint I can't let them hurt Ty anymore," Jack said.
"I agree, I'll see what I can do,"Clint said.
"Thank you," Jack said.
Clint then leaves. Jack walks back into the living room.
"Clint's going to see what he can do," Jack Said.
"Okay, thanks Jack," Ty said.
"In the meantime you have a doctor's appointment," Jack said.
"Right," Ty said with a half smile.

At The Kitchen
Jack and Ty are in the doctor's office.
"Well Ty you're looking a lot better, I can see you've been resting like I order," Said The Doctor.
"Yeah reluctantly," Said Jack with an eye roll.
"So you're the active type," Said The Doctor.
"Yeah, I guess," Said Ty.
"Well you should be able to start walking slowly with crutches in couple days but let's get that cast off first," Said The Doctor.
"Both of them?" Questioned Ty, excited.
"Yes both of them," Said The Doctor
"Awesome!" Ty said happily.

Back At Heartland
Ty slowly crutches into the barn and sees Amy.
"Hey you got your casts off!" Said Amy excited.
"Yep!" Ty said with a huge smile.
"So is your guy doing any better?" Asked Ty.
"No not really he's still scared to death of me," Said Amy.
"Poor guy..." Said Ty.
Ty slowly crutches over to the horse.
"Ty be careful!" Amy warned.
"I will be," Ty said.
Ty slowly crutches over to the horse and holds his hand out.
"Hey buddy," Said Ty softly
The bay horse walks over to Ty and neighs. Ty slowly pets the bay horse. While Amy watches. Jack walks in behind Amy.
"Well I'll be," Said Jack surprised.
"Grandpa this is amazing! I haven't been able to get close to him in weeks," Amy said, amazed.
"It sure is," Said Jack
Ty is petting the bay horse. He looks back and Amy and Jack. He's so happy to finally be doing something.
"Okay Ty, let's not over do it," Said Jack softly.
Ty sighs.
"Okay..." Said Ty reluctantly.
Ty then crutches out of the barn and Jack follows him.

At The Ranch House
Ty slowly crutches onto the porch where they see Clint sitting.
"Jack, can we talk?" Clint Questioned.
"Of course, Ty I'll be in," Said Jack.
Ty nods and crutches into the house while Jack holds the door open from him. After Ty's in the house Jack shuts the door and sits down with Clint.
"Ty will have to live with his father however it will be supervised, I was hoping Ty and his father could stay here that way if a thing happened you would be here and aware of it," Explained Clint.
"Yes he can stay in one of the dude ranch with Ty," Said Jack.
"Okay, Brad should be here soon," Said Clint
"Does this mean I'm no longer Ty's guardian ?" Asked Jack.
"No, You and Brad will be sharing custody," Clint said.
"Thank you, Clint, I'll talk to Ty," Said Jack.
Clint and Jack stand up and shake hands.
"See you Clint" Said Jack
Clint nods and leaves. Jack then walks into the house.

In The Living Room
Ty is sitting on the couch nervously when Jack walks in.
"What did Clint say?" Ty asked anxiously.
Jack sighs and sits down with Ty.
"You will be living here in a cabin at the dude ranch with your dad," Jack started to explain.
"Wait why here? Does that mean he's getting custody of me?" Ty asked, scared.
"No, Your dad and I will be sharing custody of you. Which is why you will be living here, so I know you are safe," Jack explains.
"Is there any way he could get a whole custody ?" Asked Ty, worried.
"I don't know Ty... He will be here tonight and you will be staying with him tonight," Said Jack.
Okay," Said Ty reluctantly.
There was a knock at the door.
"That must be your dad," Said Jack.
Jack stands up to answer the door Ty starts to tense up.
"Hey I'm going to be right here. If he does anything you tell me," Jack Said Softly.
"I will Jack," Said Ty.
Jack pats Ty on the shoulder. Jack walks into the kitchen and opens the door.
Brad walks into the house annoyed.
"Where is my son?!" Brad asked annoyed.
"Not so fast! We are sharing custody and this is a trial run for you. So if you hurt him I will kick you off my property and call the cops," Threaten Jack.
"I'm getting my son," Said Brad irritated.
Brad then walks past and into the living room and Ty tenses up.
"Dad!" Said Ty, scared.
"Tyler get up! You're coming with me!" Brad Demand.
"Yes sir..." Said Ty with a sigh.
Ty stands up and crutches out of the ranch house with his dad.
