Calling Jack

Chapter 5

In The Hospital
Amy, Mallory, Jack and Lou are all sitting by Ty's bedside who's asleep. Ty starts to toss and turn a little before opening his eyes.
"OMG Ty!" Mallory said overjoyed to see him awake.
Mallory jumps up and hugs Ty.
"Mallory be gentle," Lou said
"Oh I'm sorry Ty," Mallory said, jumping back.
"It's okay..." Ty said in pain.
"How are you feeling?" Amy asked.
"I'm-I'm Okay..." Ty said in pain.
"Can Ty and have a minute to talk," Jack asked.
"Yeah Grandpa, come on," Lou said
Amy, Lou and Mallory leave Ty's Hospital Room.
"Jack what's wrong?" Ty asked, panicked.
"Nothing, relax Ty everything fine," Jack said in a calming voice.
"Then why'd you ask them to leave?" Ty asked, scared.
"Please don't tell me I have to go back," Ty thought scared.
"Because I needed to talk to you... Clint asked me to be your legal guardian for the next couple of months till you're 18," Jack Said.
"He did what? Bu-but what about my mom and Wade?" Ty asked confused
"They haven't a warrant out for Wade's arrest and as for your mom I don't know," Jack Said.
"My mom going to jail too?" Ty said, fearful.
"What makes you think that?" Jack Questioned.
Ty looks away and sighs.
"Ty what aren't you telling me?" Jack asked.
"Nothing...." Ty said sadly.
"Ty talk to me," Jack Said.
"She was part of the betting. I-I mean...she didn't do sh-she uh just...didn't stop him." Ty Said Devastated
Jack sighs.
"Sh-she let him bet me for $1,000 an-and...the things he did..." Ty said, slurring and breaking into tears.
Jack pulls Ty into a hug.
"Shh...it's okay Ty, you're safe now, you're never going back there," Jack said in a comforting voice.
"No, no what's going to happen now?" Ty asked, scared.
"What's going to happen is you're going to come home with me to Heartland." Jack said, comforting.
"Really? You're going to let me stay." Ty asked,
"Of course you can stay." Jack said, Softly.
"Thank you, Jack." Ty said grateful.
"I'll be right back." Jack said standing up.
Ty nods and Jack walks out of the room.

In The Hallway
Jack walks out and to the front desk.
"Hi I'd like to talk to Ty Borden's Doctor," Jack Said.
"Okay, hang on a minute." The woman said.
She picks up the phone and calls for his doctor. Who soon walks down.
"Hello, is everything okay?" The Doctor Asked.
"Yes, I'd like to know what happened to Ty," Jack said.
"Well sir I can't tell you that," Said The Doctor.
"Yes you can cause I am now his legal guardian," Jack Said.
"I didn't realize. Please come with me," The Doctor Said.

At The Ranch House
Jack is sitting at the table with papers. He sighs as Tim walks in.
"What's wrong old man?" Tim asked.
"It's Ty..." Jack said with a sigh as he puts the papers down.
"Yeah he's a pain," Said Tim jokingly.
"No seriously...Look at these records of all the times Ty's been to the hospital because of Wade." Jack said, pissed.
Tim picks up the papers and looks at the hospital records. He closes his eyes and sighs after reading them.
"Poor kid..." Tim said with a sigh.
Tim is looking through the papers and then has a puzzled look.
"What is it?" Jack asked.
"Did you know Ty had a brother?" Tim asked.
"What?" Jack questioned confused.
"I'll take that as a no," Tim said.
"Wait where did you have him having a brother?" Jack asked.
"Here listen to this. Two brothers Jace and Tyler Borden were brought into the hospital. Jace had bleeding Internally and was deceased by the time he got there. Tyler was in coma state and didn't wake up for six months." Tim read.
Jack looks down in disbelief.
"I can't believe he went through that," Jack said in disbelief.
"Me either. Wade better be charged for that," Tim said.
"He can't be, we don't know what actually happened," Jack said.
"Don't know? Wade clearly did that to them!" Tim said getting mad.
"I agree but you can't charge someone without proof," Jack Stated.
"Well then you're going to have to get Ty to talk," Tim said.

Nightmare
Ty is laying on the floor fetal position as Wade is beating him.
"Stop! Stop!" Ty yelled in pain.
Wade keeps kicking Ty.
"Ahh!! Please stop!" Ty yelled in pain
He tried to pull himself away from Wade. Wade grabs Ty's arm and kicks him fall back to the floor. He kicks Ty over and stomps on him.
"AHH!" Ty screamed in pain.
Ty tried to catch his breath but is struggling.

In The Hospital
Ty is laying in the hospital bed when he starts tossing and turning.
"Help me! Please!" Ty yelled in his sleep.
Three nurses came running into his room.
"Please stop!!" Ty yelled.
Ty was covered in sweat and tossing and turning as the one nurse walked over to him.
"Hey, hey you're okay, You're safe." The Nurse Said Softly.
"No, no don't hurt me please," begged Ty.
"Shhh You're safe, I'm your nurse remember," Said the nurse
Ty tries to pull himself away from her in fear.
"Sedate him," The Nurse ordered.
"No! No! Get away from me!" Ty yelled as they grabbed his arm.
The one nurse gave him a sedation shot and Ty fell asleep almost instantly.

In The Hallway
Jack runs into the hospital and to the front desk as fast as he can.
"Hi I'm here about Ty Borden." Jack said, scared.
Ty's Doctor walks over to him.
"Mr. Bartlett." Said The Doctor.
Jack turns around.
"Is Ty okay?" Jack asked, scared.
"Ty is fine, he's just experiencing night terrors," Said The Doctor.
"What? What is that?" Jack asked, confused.
"We see it a lot with soldiers and some kids who were extremely abused. It's a form of PTSD that when they're sleeping their actually reliving their past, and they can wake up from the dream. It's much more intense than nightmares," Said The Doctor.
"That sounds awful, is there anything you can do?" Jack asked.
"Unfortunately no, all I can do right now is keep him sedated, so he doesn't hurt himself and suggest trauma therapy to help him deal with these things that's happened to him." Said The Doctor,
Jack nods.
"Okay, can I see him?" Jack asked, still worried.
"Yes, come with me," Said The Doctor.

Ty's Hospital Room
Jack walks into Ty's room and sits down beside him.
"Hey Ty," Said Jack softly.
Ty Whined and tossed. Jack sighs knowing how hurt Ty is. Ty starts to toss and turn.
"Ty you're alright," Jack said calmly.
Ty starts to hyperventilating and whines.
"Ty, Ty relax," Jack said softly.
"No! Please...stop! Please," Ty begged.
Jack stands up and walks over to Ty.
"Shhh it's okay, you're safe," Jack said Softly.
"No, No! Don't hurt me please!" Ty yelled in fear.
"Ty it's okay, no one is going to hurt you," Jack said, softly
Jack pulls Ty into a hug. Ty starts to relax in Jack's arms.
"You're Safe Ty, You're safe," Jack said comfortingly
Ty is shaking and crying in Jack's arms.
"You're Okay, it's okay Ty I'm here, You're safe," Jack said Softly.
"Don't let him hurt me, please," Ty begged.
"Shhh, he's not going to hurt you ever again Ty, I promise," Jack said softly.
Ty lays back down and eventually starts to fall asleep again. When Jack slowly and quietly starts to leave. Ty realizes Jack is leaving and grabs his arm.
"Wait! Not please don't leave." Ty said.
"Ty I can't stay. The doctors asked me to leave." Jack said
"No, please, please," Ty started to beg in fear.
Jack could tell Ty was just scared.
"Please, please don't leave," Ty begged.
"Okay, Okay I'll stay," Jack said reassuringly.
Ty sighs with relief.
"Thanks Jack," Ty Said grateful
Ty starts to feel safer having Jack next him and slowly drifts off to sleep.
