7. Don't

Jeonghan's POV

I was just eating my breakfast when my doorbell rang.

"Hi"- I saw Y/N in her unifo holding a container while smiling

"Y/N..."

"I'm Kim Y/N, I'm your neighbor. I live in that house alone"- she said

"Y/N what are you doing?"- I asked

"I want to go back to where we started but this time, I won't be the same."- she said holding back her tears.

"Hi Y/N. I'm Jeonghan. We just moved here yesterday."-I answered while smiling

"I'm wondering if you've eaten breakfast so I came here to give you this"- she said and handed me the container.

"I'm actually eating right now"- I said but she peeked her head lightly at my door.

"Cereals? That's not enough. Here take it"- she said and forced me to take the container

She was about to turn her back but I grabbed her.

"Would you mind if I ask you to eat with me?"- I asked

"I won't. Let's go"- she said and this time she's the one grabbing me.

I smiled to myself and looked at her.

We we're eating the breakfast she made and she told me that it was really a breakfast for two and even if I don't ask her to eat it with me, she'll still eat it with me.

"Hey Jeonghan"- she suddenly said

"Yes?"- I asked

"How does it feel?"- she said not looking at me

"What do you mean?"- I asked confused

"How does it feel to have a family like yours? A happy one, a complete one?"- she said still not looking at me

"Contented? I mean, what more could I ask for. My parents are lovable."- I said

She smiled lightly before looking at me.

"You see, I don't know how it feels. My mom was enough for me but I was still longing for my father's love. I was bullied in my elementary days because I don't have a father with me every time there's a family day."- she said with a faint smile. I can see her tears forming before her looking down.

"Let's go to school"- she said and stood up before offering her hand at me.

How miserable can her life be? How hard could it be for her to to live like that for more than 2 years.

"Hey come on."- she said

I smiled at her and we started walking to school.

"Hey Jeonghan, Y/N"- Joshua said the moment we arrived

Y/N immediately grabbed my arm and looked down.

"Kyeopta~"- Seungcheol said seeing how Y/N acted

"Hi"- Y/N suddenly said and looked up before smiling at them

Joshua and Seungcheol looked at her with wide eyes and then looked at me. I just shrugged.

"I'm Kim Y/N, Jeonghan's neighbor. I didn't have the chance to introduce myself formally the first time we met"- she said offering her hands to them

They looked at her still shocked but Joshua took her hand.

"Hong Jisoo, but you can call me Joshua"- he said shaking her hand

"Choi Seungcheol"- he said and smiled

Y/N just bowed and bid her good bye saying that she'll be late for her first class. We don't have similar schedules today so she have different subjects.

The last session for today indeed so I went to Y/N's room and waited for her outside.

"Y/N"- I called when she went out

She smiled and walked towards me.

"Let's go home"- I said and grabbed her bag

"What are you doing?"- she said shocked

"Uh, carrying your bag?"- I deadpanned answered

"I mean, why are you doing that?"- she asked

"No reason"- I said and walked away with her following me.

When we arrived in fromt of her house I gave her her bag back.

"My parents' are home. Do you want to go meet them?"- I said pointing at our house

She hesitated and looked at her watch. I looked at it too. It's 4:00 o'clock.

"Sure. But I need to be home by 6 or I'll get out of hand"- she said nervously.

I nodded and held her hands.

"Eomma, appa."- I called them when we went inside.

"Oh my son. I missed you"- my mom said hugging me.

Y/N just stood there not knowing what to do.

"Who is this lovely lady in here?"- my mom asked

"Hello. I'm Y/N, I live in the house next door"- she said

"Are your parents here? We want to invite you for dinner"- My dad said causing Y/N to froze

"I l-live alone. M-my mother d-died 2 years ago"- she said hesitantly

My mom went to her and hugged her tight.

"I'm sorry to hear that Y/N"- my mom said

"No. It's alright."- Y/N said and smiled.

My mom told Y/N about random stuffs before Y/N stood up to leave.

"You should eat dinner here Y/N."- my dad said

"No sir. It's alright. I have some errands to do"- she said and bowed.

My mother smiled and hugged Y/N again before letting her leave.

"Your mom's a bit clingy"- she said when she opened the gate

"I'm sorry about that. Anyway, they're just here for the night. They'll leave again later at 2 am."- I said slightly chuckling

"Well. Good night Jeonghan"- she said.

Before I could reply she suddenly hugged me tight.

"Thank you"- she said before pulling away.
