Percy's POV:
We walked back into the bedroom with snacks. After passing everything out, Leo and I took our seats back on the couch. I kept ahold of his hand, still feeling very stressed.
"What are we going to watch next?" Leo asked. Piper held up another girly film.
"No," Annabeth said laughing. "I suffered enough during the first movie." I nodded in agreement. Everyone started arguing over movies. I watched in amusement. It still didn't feel real to me that I was able to call these people my friends.
My phone buzzed, along with everyone else's.
"What the hell?" Hazel asked, opening her phone. I turned mine on to see a photo texted to me. I opened it and quickly turned my phone off, trying not to throw it. I stared at my black screen, the image burned into my mind. It was a clearly edited photo, but it hit too close to home. It showed a generic horror movie cover, where the killer was dragging a boy back by a rope around the neck. Terribly added on top were Gabe's and my faces.
Leo was speaking to me, but I was to upset to hear what he was saying. I stood up and walked out of the room, quickly mentioning something about needing air. I stepped outside. I sat on the front steps, trying to process it. I felt someone sitting next to me. Without looking, I knew who it was.
I laid my head on his chest as he wrapped his arm around me. I closed my eyes, trying not to break down sobbing. I remembered multiple times Gabe choked me out with a belt or a rope, or anything else he could get his hands on. Leo gently kissed my temple.
"I'm sorry," I said. I heard Leo sigh quietly.
"It's okay, you didn't do anything wrong," he said. I shook my head, feeling like I was in the wrong for storming out of the room. I placed my hand on my neck, matching up with the bruising.
"I don't get it. What do they gain?" I asked.
"They just get off from seeing people in pain," Leo said. I scoffed. He kissed my cheek. I smiled, glad he was here. I wouldn't have been able to survive without him. I looked up at him and kissed him.
"Thank you," I said. He smiled at me.
"I just want you to be okay," he said.
"Don't worry," I said. "I am, or at least I will be eventually. They're just stupid high schoolers who don't know what they are even talking about. It'll blow over."
Leo smiled at me. I actually felt okay. It felt nice not having to lie. I laid back onto his chest, just enjoying the moment. I heard the front door open again and Annabeth sat down as well.
"Hey," she said softly.
"Hey," Leo and I responded.
"How are you doing?" she asked.
"I'll be okay. It'll take a bit, but I'll get there." Annabeth nodded.
"I'll leave you two be then," she said, smiling. She walked back into the house.
"I am sorry for running out like that," I said. "That image just... reminded me of stuff."
"Every time you apologize when you don't need to, I will..." Leo paused trying to think of something. I waited patiently, amused. "You won't be allowed to snuggle for at least an hour."
"Fine," I said. "But that means neither will you."
"Okay, that isn't going to work," Leo muttered. I laughed and kissed his jaw.
"You'll think of something," I said. He smiled at me.
"Of course I will," he responded. He sat silently, still trying to come up with something. I laughed again.
"While you think, I will be inside, hanging out with everyone else." I stood up and Leo followed.
"Don't leave me," he whined.
"I'll leave you if I want to," I laughed. We walked into the living room, where everyone had moved. We all watched more movies, some of them were actually pretty good. Leo had fallen asleep on me. We were stretched out on the couch, our legs intertwined. He had his head laying on my chest. He was snoring softly. I was absentmindedly playing with his hair.
"Why are you two so cute?" Hazel asked. I shrugged.
"More him than me, I would assume."
"Don't sell yourself short. You both are cute together," she said.
"Well, thanks," I said. Piper and Jason were cuddling in a chair, both asleep. Annabeth had gone home a while ago, same with Thalia. The TV screen was playing the credits of the last movie. I kissed the top of Leo's head and fell asleep.
***
I woke up to Leo shifting. I looked to see Leo grabbing his phone. It was completely dark in the living room, so the bright screen blinded us both.
"Hey," I groaned.
"Sorry," he whispered back.
"What time is it?" I asked, wondering if I could make it home without getting into trouble.
"One thirty," Leo said. I groaned. Leo stood up and started grabbing his things. "Imma head home so my mom doesn't completely kill me."
"Mind if I tag along? I would rather sleep on a bed than a couch," I said. Leo quietly laughed and nodded. We got onto the motorcycle and drove off. I was way to tired to be driving so Leo was. He managed to get us home without crashing.
We walked through the door, using our phones for light. We climbed the stairs to his bedroom. Leo lent me some night clothes to borrow.
"Goodnight," Leo said. I hummed a response back, wrapping my arms around him.
I have been trying not to crying all f*cking day. School and stuff has me all sorts of stresed, and it's only been four days. Please don't tell me to take a break though, because right now, writing these chapters is one of the few things keeping me from crying. I will not be able to cry till at least next month when I have a bedroom and I can do it in peace. Yeah, I won't cry where people can see. I'm weird.
Anyways, I am running out of ideas for this story again, so if y'all could give me some suggestions, that would be awesome. Love you all <3
