"Gwaine! Why of everything you could have come up with, it had to be to kiss a stranger?" Exclaimed Merlin clearly regretting his decision to play. "Because you chose dare and I have the power. Now go!" Shooed Gwaine.

The friend group had been playing truth or dare to entertain themselves since they had been there for an hour already. Merlin had been wearing a white mask, Gwen wore a coral one, Lancelot had a blue one, and both Gwaine and Morgana wore black ones.

After Gwaine shooed Merlin, he started walking backwards. Gwaine had dared him to walk backwards and kiss the first person he ran into. The guests moved out of the way when they saw Merlin going towards them. The young warlock had started to hope that he may not have to kiss a stranger.

That, however, went down the drain when he felt himself bump into another person. Great. "Hey! Watch it!" Yelled the guest. It's now or never. Thought Merlin before he turned toward a the other man and mumbled a quick 'sorry' before kissing him.
The boy added a 'sorry, it was a dare' before running away from the man he barely even glanced at.

When he made it back to his friends he found the group chuckling at him. Before he could get his revenge, his mother spoke.

"Everyone! I thank you all for coming to Anglia to celebrate my son's birthday. I would like all those who posses magic to perform your favorite—safest— spell right now." Spoke Queen Hunith while standing in front of her throne with a wide smile on her face.

Arthur nearly choked on the tiny pie he was eating. This was it! This is what he's been waiting the whole night to see!, he thought to himself with excitement but stayed wary of those around him.

Soon the ballroom was filled with snowflakes, flashes of colors, lights, sparks, and figures from smoke or fire. All kinds of spells, but none seemed harmful and that confused Arthur.
He also noticed the Queen wasn't performing a spell herself. Curiosity getting the best of him, he asked the closest person near him "why doesn't the Queen cast a spell?" The woman looked at him funny for a second then answered, "you mustn't be from around here, Queen Hunith herself can't perform magic. The deceased King and the prince, have been the most powerful ones of us all when it comes to magic". The woman smiled proudly and admiration was clear on her face as she spoke, even with a mask on.

"Oh" was the only thing he could muster. His attention was back to the Queen as she continued to speak. "I can never get over how beautiful it is! Now. Let the celebration continue!"

The ballroom changed lighting all of a sudden into a blue shade. Everyone around Arthur began to dance. Those who stood in the sidelines were pulled into the dance floor, Arthur included.

From all around the palace, the knights too were dragged by strangers to dance.
