Back in New Orleans

Carter's POV

It was 1:23pm when we finally got off the plane. I had been clutching Karl's arm the entire time.

Karl knew I was terrified of heights and flying. That is why he was worried about me when I told him I thought it would be best if we took an airplane.

He was also worried because he thought all the stress of being leader was starting to take a toll on me. He was partially right.

I wasn't sleeping very well. I was constantly worrying about deciding the wrong thing. I was supposed to be the leader, yet I had no idea what to do.

When we landed and I let go of Karl, he moved his arm around making sure I didn't break anything.

"Ouch... you have a death grip. My arm is numb," Karl said as we grabbed our stuff.

I chuckled a little, "Sorry, atleast we didn't have to drive and drive and drive and drive and dr-"

He cut me off, "Okay! I get it!"

We both started laughing and exited the plane with the others.

We decided to split up and head to the bathroom. Avalon, Eva, and I went to the girls bathroom and I looked in the mirror.

For once in my life I actually wanted to wear some makeup. I looked exactly how I felt. Exhausted.

Maybe Karl was right to be worried. Nah, I'd be all right. I was just stressed. Nothing to worry about.

We left the bathroom and met up with the guys.

"Okay, let's get out of here and find Rowen," I said.

"Well, atleast we knew where he lives so unless he moved it shouldn't be too hard," Karl said.

"He knew we were coming back, he wouldn't have moved," Damian pointed out.

"I wish we didn't have to come back. I don't like him..." William said.

"Stop being a jerk. Just because he is different doesn't mean you have to hate him," I said.

"Why didn't he come with you guys?" Eva asked.

"He wanted to stay back here with his boyfriend. We were going to have to come back to New Orleans eventually because we have another person we need to meet up with here. So he decided to stay behind," I explained.

"Wait.. boyfriend?" Blaise asked.

"Oh yeah... we forgot to mention that. He is gay and William here is a homophobe," I said give William a quick glare.

"I'm not a homophobe! I just don't like Rowen... he is always so happy... and weird," William said defensively.

"Well he is the light power..." Karl pointed out, "he is supposed to be happy. Just like Avalon is supposed to be a little bit goth and depressing."

Avalon glared at Karl so he added, "No offense.."

Evangalene saw her sister was about to say something to Karl so she interrupted, "So who is the other guy we have to meet?"

"He is the last remaining power from the last time. We were hoping once we had the whole group together he would train us," I said.

"Yeah, but warning he is really weird," Damian said.

"Hey... you don't talk much do you?" Avalon said to Damian.

"I guess not...why?" he replied.

"Just pointing it out. If I'm goth than you must be emo or something," Avalon said. She threw a quick glare at Karl when she mentioned being goth.
