"It's going to be okay, babe." Lisa looked at Rosé, who was hugging her tightly, both of them being sandwiched by Jennie and Jisoo from either side.
Lisa just told them everything that happened in the past week. When she first talked about her crush on the NCT member, Jisoo and Jennie just nodded and encouraged her to continue while Rosé asked 'that was real?' very much surprised. She was thankful for that unintentional outburst because it lightened her mood significantly.
They hugged her for the first time out of the many that happened that night when Lisa started telling them about her confession. When she finished, they were still clinging on to her to the point where she was being squished.
"Okay, okay! I love you, too! Now please let me breathe!" she chuckled lightly, which prompted the girls to laugh at their predicament. "Don't worry about me," she reassured them once they've settled down. "But I think I need some rest." She got up from the couch they've been sitting on. "It's been a long day."
Lisa was looking through her phone after she plopped down on her bed before going on to take a nap. She saw the pictures that they took during their Thai meet-up. She wanted to hit her head with what she saw. She had forgotten how she cropped a few of their group photos to only show her and Ten. Her finger hovered on the red button. It was confusing and annoying how she felt both relieved and reminded of the pain after sharing what she felt to the girls. She deleted the photos and put her phone down. She decided to sleep it away when a thought came to her mind. Is this what Bambam felt?
The sudden thought reminded her of what Sorn told her earlier. She decided to pick her phone back up and search for her friend's stage in episode 3. She realized only now that she wasn't able to watch his performance since he went on before her. It was also the time when she felt the lowest, pushing everyone away from her, including Bambam. She watched as the peaceful music transformed into one of sorrow as Bambam was slowly left alone on the stage. His movements reflected the melancholic music, but what really got Lisa's attention was his face. The pain that he carried seem to contort his face, his eyes begging. She almost had to look away when Bambam looked towards the camera as he reached out, asking whoever it was to stay.
What kind of girl made him feel like he'd lost so much?
The week went on, a few days passed and she felt a hundred times better than she had a week ago. Within those days Bambam constantly bombarded her with messages asking to hangout or simply annoy her. Sometimes she thinks that he's doing that to distract her and cheer her up. It was working, but it was also incredibly frustrating 80 percent of the time. He'd taken her out to lunch, bought her drinks and ice cream. The free food was definitely the 20 percent.
Whenever she'd go out, the girls would look at her weirdly and she'd just roll her eyes. It doesn't matter, she missed this. This familiarity that they had, the teasing, the laughs they shared, the free food she gets. She smiled at the thought until another came knocking in her mind. Was he like this with her as well? Did he do all this for her? Or maybe more?
"What's she like?" She asked him one day as they were out for a very late lunch.
He rose his eyebrow at her. The wind was a little cold but with some beer at hand, some heat was put into their system as they stood by a low mountain side, overlooking the city.
"You know...the one who hurt you?" His face shifted a little but she was still answered mainly by Bambam's confused expression. "I watched your perf in the third episode," she explained.
He chuckled, shaking his head. "What are you jealous now?" But she did not answer. He sighed when he realized that Lisa was not going to let this one go. "She's a force," he finally said.
She looked at him shamelessly. It didn't matter if she stared anyways. He was looking out towards nothing with a foreign expression on his face.
"She's funny and wild and all over the place." Then, slowly, his eyes shifted toward her. She was a little taken aback but she wanted to hear what he had to say, and she didn't want him to feel like she can't listen. "She's someone you can't take your eyes off of and draws you in like a moth to a flame. She's...like the sun. Bright and warm and beautiful. I think I tried to get too close and it burned me."
He looked at her so intensely that she had to look at away. Some heat crept up to her cheeks, unsure if it was the beer or something else. When she looked back at him he was already looking at the setting sun with a bitter smile on his face.
He looked so in love that she felt a tightness in her chest. She doesn't know where it was coming from, but she wasn't left with any room to think about it especially with the newness of what was in front of her. He looked so entranced just imagining her. His voiced softened at the thought of her. I don't think I felt an ounce of what Bambam felt for her with Ten. I admired him, that's true, but not like this, I think.
Who is this girl? If I were her, I don't think I could have said no. She was surprised by the thoughts that her mind entertained. She tried to stop herself from thinking of that any further. We're friends. None of that, ok? she told herself.
"Just like you..." he whispered to the wind, as if not really talking to anyone.
