This is it. 4th year back.. i thought. I sat patiently in the Hogwarts express compartments, thinking off into the distance, slowly loosing myself in my own thoughts. Before i got too lost in my own head, i got chills from a sudden tap on my shoulder, i turn around to find cedric diggory -a good friend of mine- facing towards me with a huge smile on his face.

I had missed him so much, we spoke a lot over the summer through owls but it wasn't the same...I hugged him tightly, letting out a sigh before he sat down in front of me, his hands covering his face trying to conceal his smile to show he didn't miss me even though i know he did, a lot. i couldn't help but laugh at his awkwardness but eventually he began laughing with me.

The hufflepuff quickly started conversation. "So y/n, are you going to try out for the quidditch team this year or are you going to being a coward like last year and let malfoy put you on the bench?" Cedric teased.

I was shocked that he called me a coward but even more shocked that he said malfoy pushed me around. "i did not play last year because of Malfoy, I was injured!" I said, slightly aggressively. Cedric smiled, "whatever floats your boat l/n" I was now annoyed at the THOUGHT that Cedric THOUGHT  Malfoy had some sort of control over me and it ate at me the whole train ride.

As the vehicle raced on the tracks, Cedric and i spent this time catching up on each others summers.

This time was always the most fun, hearing others summers was like viewing someone else's personal life and feeling what they felt. Kind of like picturing their words in your head. Mapping out images of little details.

Cedric mostly talked about his father, who was a lovely man really. His ecstatic yet charming personality topped everyone's, I could see why Cedric really loved his father and spoke of him with such positivity.

Cedric went to change his robes once our conversations go shorter and shorter, in order to diffuse the tension. I sat silently waiting for him to come back. I once again went back to my thoughts. Diggory's words began taking over my mind. 'are you going to let malfoy put you on the bench'.

I laid my head into the chair looking up at the ceiling of the vehicle, Malfoy, as if i'd let Draco fucking Malfoy disrespect me, i thought slightly boosting my confidence. My thought ran to hogsmeade, oh how butter-beer would be so nice right about now.

I began to slightly doze off until i felt a set of piercing eyes looking at me through the doors. I look up thinking that Cedric waited outside not wanting to wake me from my nap as he was a hufflepuff with good values and all the cutesy type shit.

But soon realized it was my fellow Slytherins.

Pansy Parkinson; a bitch, Blaise Zabini; a prick and the Slytherin prince, Draco Malfoy himself. They all look at me with disgust.

"What do i owe the pleasure?" I say sarcastically, getting a smirk from Blaise. Pansy barks, "Get up. You filthy Witch." Comeback of the year Pansy.

She's thick as pig shit.

I look up at her and smile, then i rest my feet on the seats. "Sorry but their taken. We'll be at Hogwarts shortly though, enjoy the rest of the ride" I say to her trying not to laugh at her sudden change from a smirk to a frown. She then scoffs and looks up to Draco who glares down at me.

She rolled her eyes when he didnt give her the attention she longed for.

"She said get up, l/n. I mean it." Draco says looking like he's about to hex me. I look into his grey eyes, his very dangerous grey eyes and say, "Once again, they are taken, Find someone else to bother."

I blow a sarcastic kiss at him as he rolls his eyes, before Pansy grabs both boys wrists -Blaise still trying not to laugh at my response- and walk off, clearly frustrated that i stood my ground. Blaise and I were good friends, we could joke around and have a laugh.

When it was just us we could talk for ages but when his friends were around, for example malfoy; he would still smile at my jokes but somehow feel like he couldn't laugh as the blonde would probably send him to azkaban, if that's not a toxic friendship, i dunno what is.

Eventually, Cedric came back oblivious, literal fucking idiot i tell you.

I didn't think to mention the slytherins as Cedric would try pull somethings that wasnt worth it so we simply just talked about other things, avoiding anything green was advised for the hufflepuff.

Soon the train came to a stop. Hogwarts, the place i had longed to be -since the beginning of summer- had arrived and by merlin was i ready to have an interesting year.
