Keeping Secrets

"Mom? Dad?" 

"Lexi where were you?" My mother asked. 

"Out.... with some friends. What are you guys doing here? I was thinking it would be another week or so?"   I'm still standing in the door way of the garage. 

"Now that no way to greet your parents who work hard for you to have a nice house and car." My mom laughed. 

"Close the door you'll let the air out"  I heard my dad grumble. 

"Love you too dad. Nice to see you too Dad. Oh my life is great. Yours?"

"Alright alright. Came here."I smile and walk over to the man who is more a father to me than anyone has ever been. I hugged him like my life depending on it. After I released him I went to the one who I happily call my mother. 

"Where are the boys?"  

" Luke is in the game room as always and the twins are asleep.  Connor is watching tv in the living room." My mother answered. 

"Well imagine go change then I'll join them there.

"While on your way up tell Luke to come down. We need to talk to him and his brothers." 

"Ok." With that I was off to my room.  I walk back to the steps and once I get to my room I text Luke to tell him about mom and dad wanting to see him. I change from my race clothes and into a pair of grey sweat pants and a black sports bra. 

Then it hits me like a train in the stomach. 

I havent eaten!!!!!!!! 

How could I have done that? Im always eating! I quickly walk down the stairs toward the kitchen. I walked up to the fridge and found some ice cream in the freezer.

  Im about to walk back up to my room when I over hear a convo in the living room.  

"They're not gonna stop until they get their hands on them," What the hell? Who is dad talking about? Who is they? And get their hands on who? 

"Dad we can't stay here and keep them safe. We have our own people to lead in the piedmont." Grant. Wait lead?  Were they in the piedmont this whole time?   

OK what the fuck is going on? Keep whom safe? Were they talking about me? The twins? Mya? 

"We know that Grant which is why we have talked to our best member." Mom what are you talking about? Member? I didn't catch the last thing she said because of my thoughts.   

"Mom I don't know about that. The Wolves are awful, hideous fucktards. Are you're about leaving them with him ?" Connor spat the last word like it was asking him to to the dishes while his fuck buddy is in his room. Wow he must really hate that guy. 

"He is the best we have and the situation is perfect. We'll just say that he's a new foster kid and none will be the wiser. He's the best fight we've got and he's not bad with a gun either." 

Guns!!! What are they keeping from me? Wait Wolves?!? What the actual fuck!!?? Are we thinking about the same wolves here? Like reveal gang to the Tigers... Wolves? Those ones?

"I think we should tell her. She deserves to know and she's not some broken loner anymore. She can take care of yourself. We taught her well." Luke spoke up. Who was he talking about? ME??????? 

"Luke you know we can't do that she'll want in and I don't want this life for my only daughter." Holy fucking shit!!  That are talking about me!  But in in what? What life?

"We know that Thomas... But if she had the training she would be an amazing member. Just give her a chance. She's not just your little girl anymore. She's proved herself time and time again." Aww mom... you're standing up for me. Grant took over trying to convince our father  

"She does the same thing we use to and more. She's like a mother to Amaya and the twins She the takes care of the house even tho we could have servant do that... Her grades are amazing. plus she take boxing classes. The two would be unstoppable if you just tell her the truth."  

I knew it! They were keeping something from me All of them. What could it be? It has to be something about the Tigers.   But my parents are lawyers not gang members.  What would they be hiding from me? I decide its best if I not hear any more and walk back up stairs to check on the twins. As I'm walking away I hear the last thing my father said, that shock me to the core. 

"i know that but I don't want her and Axel getting close," I move closer so I could hear better. "He's not bad for her its just that if she does join he might be a weakness of hers." Luke interrupted. 

"She'll get hurt with way dad. and only you can tell her or else she'll think we're fucking with her." Ok.......... thats a first. My parents hate swearing. 

"language Luke." Ahh there it is. My mom grew up in a Christian home. She still doesn't like swearing even though dad's an atheist.  

"You get my point. If you want her to know dad you need to be the one who tells her."

"you're all right. She should know whats going on it does involve her. I'll tell Lexi in the morning. She should know that her father is the leader of the Tigers and her life is in grave danger."
