Rylie's POV 
It's been about a week since I spent that day with Leo. Surprisingly it hasn't been awkward between us at work.

Leo was very professional and never made me feel conscious about my feelings toward him. Of course he would call me beautiful when I came into work or the occasional hand holding when he would walk me to my car.

But tonight he asked me out on a date, I of course accepted. He even went the extra mile to make reservations at this new upscale vegan restaurant down town. I couldn't wait to try it.

At the moment I was standing in my closet looking for an outfit to wear tonight.

I was brought out of my thoughts when my phone rang and I noticed my mom was calling.

"Hey mama," I answered with a happy voice.

"What's got you all happy Rylie?" My mother questioned me.

I was reluctant to answer but decided it was best to let my mom know instead of keeping Leo a secret.

"Well I'm going on a date tonight ma," I told her.

I knew she would be ecstatic since she claims my eggs were expiring or something like that.

I could hear her scream with excitement at the news. "Well it's about time you stoped working all day long and get you a man Rylie." She said over the phone.

I giggled back to her and vaguely agreed.

"So who is he?" She asked.

I took a calming breath before answering, I was a little worried about what she would say.

"You remember that assistant I hired about two months ago?" I questioned her. She hummed yes, so I continued. "Well we've been getting close lately and he asked to take me out."

She went silent for about 10 seconds before I heard her speak. "Well as long as he treats you nice and makes you happy, I'm happy for you."

"Aww... thanks mama, that means a lot." I replied.

I was so relieved to hear my mothers reaction. I told her about Leo when I initially hired him and she does know that's he is a little younger than me. I'm happy she didn't judge me.

"Of course baby, what kind of mother would I be. But I'll let you go so you can get all dolled for your date. But just know I might show up to your work to check out your new man." She told me.

"Ok ma... I love you," I told with a smile on my face.

"Love you to baby... bye" my mother replied.

Once I hung up I went back to focusing on finding an outfit for tonight. I decided to go with a dark brown corduroy skirt, paired with a loose black turtleneck sweater. For shoes I opted for knee high black boots. And I chose some small hoop earring and a few silver bracelets for accessories.

For my hair I parted my curly mass down the middle and and slicked the curls into a low puff at the nap of my neck.

Right when was applying my vanilla scented perfume I heard my doorbell ring.

I quickly grabbed my crossbody purse and calmed my nerves before opening my front door.

When I opened my door I gasped at the sight of Leo.

He was leaning against my doorframe with a boyish grin on his face. In his left hand he carried a singe red rose that he twirled between his fingers. He handed me the rose and I immediately closed my eyes to smell it.

When his beautiful hazel eyes met mine, I felt my heart swoon.

"You look lovely, Rylie." Leo told me. I watched in awe as he gently grabbed me hand and placed a kiss to my knuckles.

I could feel heat rush to my cheeks and my heart pounded violently against my chest at his presence.
