Place - Pune

The weather today was pleasant with rain falling lightly ever since dawn. The god of rain has been showing mercy as it's unusual for Pune to have rained for two consecutive weeks now. Especially in the month of September. The dams were flooded and Bhide bridge was already underwater. Kothrud to Hinjewadi highway was flooded with cars and two-wheeler making it impossible to move.

It took Shivansh almost two hours to cover a distance of half-hour. Still, he was relieved for two reasons. One that he was on the bike and other, his company was in phase 1 of Hinjewadi and not in phase 3 which was even farther. He parked the bike in the parking lot of Calsoft private limited and made his way inside the building after scanning his ID card. His mood was rather gloomy as he pressed the elevator button. Taking a deep sigh he looked up in the LCD display. He knew he will be working extra today to complete the nine working hours for the day. He held his helmet in one hand which was drenched with water drops falling on the ground along with the raincoat. The sweeper gave him a look but he didn't bother. Usually, he is a sweet guy talking sweetly to everyone but lately, he started being grumpy after his long term girlfriend, Aditi left him for a better future.

The elevator door opened and he got in. He didn't feel like coming for work today with his extra bad mood but it was better than sitting home alone with his Aai's tons of question about his mood off and his project's delivery date was this weekend so he needed to buckle up and complete the work by tomorrow at the most. So he couldn't have afforded a holiday at least for the next couple of days until his project gets approved. He let out another sigh and walked outside on his floor and took off his raincoat keeping it in the area with hanging coats and umbrellas. He then walked through the cubicles until he reached his. He took off his backpack and got comfortable on the chair resting his back until the computer was turning on.

He had tried his everything to make Aditi understand that they will work in future even with long-distance as she was leaving for the US but she didn't want to take any chances and settled for being just friends. He couldn't force her as it wasn't his way ever. He settled for the fact that if she wants then she will be back if not then he needs to move on. It's been already two months since then and he didn't receive any text or call from her. But he can see her happy posts on Instagram every now and then. Cheering and partying with her friends in the US while this Devdas didn't recover from the heartbreak yet. Shivansh moved in his seat and grabbed his specCase from his backpack. He took out his specs and rubbed them on his shirt before putting them in front of his eyes.

He went through his emails, replying to a few of them and started with his tasks for today that was solving the bugs as they were in the last stage of development.

Shivansh stretched his hands up in the air and moved his neck side to side. It was just lunchtime and he had already been through meetings with the manager, lead and whole team briefing them about his completed work and errors he is working on. It was a long day but he was ok with it as he liked what he did.

He felt a jerk on his shoulders and he knew who it was going to be. He let out a sigh and looked up to the side to see his best friend smiling widely at him. He was frustrated already with everything happening in his life and Chirag knew it all.

They both met in the company itself. Chirag was senior and into operations while Shivansh was new and in Technical. They met through their teammates when they all went out for lunch and have been best friends for the past four years.

"Get up, bro," Chirag said "Stop being Devdas, yaar," he stated with irritation as he got seated in the empty chair beside Shivansh.

"I'm already tired of seeing that face. I mean move on. Stop thinking about that Dayan," Chirag said again but Shivansh kept on clicking the mouse buttons doing nothing much.
