Picture of Kate on the side+++
The clock ticks through the crowded space that is my mind.
Tick- I'm wasting my life
Tick- What if it doesn't get better?
Tick- Who cares anyways?
Tick- When will I smile again?
Flashback:
"Daddy! Daddy!" Rushing to the door as fast as my legs could go! Daddy is home. Wrapping my arms around his waist in an attempt to hug him. Feeling my feet lift off the ground and I sway them slightly. Looking at daddy's face, his eyes are grey with no colour to be seen, a worn smile fading with each second. My smile fades also and a confused look covers my once happy face.
"What's the matter daddy?" I feel the ground underneath me again and feel a lose of touch.
The man in front of me looks towards the kitchen door which is behind me where mummy stands.
"I've been fired." What's that? I look at mommy for answers, yet she only looks at daddy with a shocked expression.
"Why?!" My mothers voice is mixed with anger and shock. I don't understand.
Daddy tells me to go upstairs after putting his leather coat away.
Running up the stairs I stop just at the corner so I can hear mommy and daddy but they can't see me. I clutch onto the wooden sticks that holds the whole bar up.
"So? Why have you got fired?" Mommys voice comes out again. My mind goes fuzzy.
"I don't want to talk about this in the house." My eyes blur.
"Why not?" Mommys voice is now sad, why can't daddy tell her. What's happened to daddy?
