One night, Scott, Derek and I were looking for the Alpha when we traced it to the video store where someone was killed and Jackson and Lydia were almost attacked. By the time we got there, the police and the ambulance were already there. We stayed on the roof as we investigated the damage.
"Starting to get it?" Derek asked Scott as he stared at the scene in front of us.
Scott still seemed to be confused. "I get that he's killing people, but I don't get why. I mean, this isn't standard practice, right? We don't go out in the middle of the night murdering everyone, do we?"
"It's more of an option," I told him as I looked down at Jackson, who had a towel wrapped around his shoulders.
Derek gave me a pointed look. "What she means is; we're predators, we don't have to be killers".
"Then why is he a killer?" Scott asked, looking back and forth between the two of us.
"That's what we're hoping to find out," I said, jumping down the side of the building.
"What's she doing?" I heard Scott ask.
"Gathering intel," Derek replied.
I ran over to Stiles, who was also there. "What happened here?"
He rushed over to me. "What are you doing here?"
Leaning closer to him, I whispered, "Look up". He followed my instructions and looked to the top of the store to see Scott and Derek. Noting his confusion, I decided to explain. "We were tracking the Alpha. Now, about my earlier question, what happened?"
"The Alpha attacked the owner. He's dead. Jackson and Lydia were here as well, but Lydia stayed in the car. Jackson was the only one who actually went inside," he explained.
"Wait, so Jackson saw the alpha?" He nodded. I looked over at Jackson, who was now sitting alone. I grabbed Stiles' hand and walked over to Jackson, keeping an eye out for anyone that might be coming. "Hey Jackson, are you alright?" I asked him.
"What are you doing here?" he asked as soon as he saw me. Not giving me a chance to reply, he demanded, "I want to go home!"
I knelt down in front of him so we were eye-level and looked into his eyes as I compelled him. "I know you must be frightened, but why don't you tell me exactly what happened?"
Under my compulsion, he didn't hesitate to answer. "I saw the owner's body get dragged away. All I saw was a black shadow. I hid behind one of the shelves, but it knocked all the shelves over. I thought I was gonna die, but for some reason, it left me alone".
"Is that all?" He nodded. "Now forget we had this conversation".
Stiles looked to be in awe. "Yes Stiles, I can control people with my mind," I whispered. I looked over at the roof to see if they had heard and they gave me a nod in confirmation.
The next day, I was in chemistry with Stiles. Both Scott and Allison were missing and Lydia had taken the day off, but Jackson was here. Stiles got the brilliant idea to ask Danny what was going on, considering the fact that Danny was Jackson's best friend.
Leaning closer to Danny, he whispered not-so-quietly, "Hey, Danny-- can I ask you a question?"
Immediately, Danny answered, "No".
Stiles paused, clearly not expecting that answer. "Well, I'm going to anyway. Did Lydia show up in your homeroom today?"
Danny hesitated before answering Stiles. "No".
"Can I ask you another question?" Bloody hell, he was persistent, and probably annoying.
Danny sighed. "Answer's still no".
Ignoring what he had just said, Stiles asked his question. "Does anyone know what happened to her and Jackson last night?"
Danny hesitated again. "He wouldn't tell me".
Stiles was silent for a moment before leaning close to Danny again. "One more question..."
By now, Danny was growing impatient with Stiles and I couldn't blame him. "What?!"
"...Do you find me attractive?" Stiles continued to lean closer until eventually, he fell off his chair.
I snorted, which caught the attention of our bastard of a teacher. "Mikaelson, is there a problem?" Mr Harris asked.
I put on my best straight face and shook my head quickly. "No, no problem at all".
"I think you and Stilinski should spend some time apart". I grumpily grabbed my stuff and moved to the other side of the classroom, giving Stiles a death stare.
After school, Stiles went to check on Lydia while I went home. I was watching a movie when I got a text from Stiles. It was an attachment. I opened it and almost fell off the couch in shock. There was a monster with glowing red eyes. It looked a lot like a werewolf.
I immediately sent the photo to Scott and Derek then called Stiles. "How the bloody hell did you get that?" was my greeting.
"It was on Lydia's phone," he told me.
"She documented it? How did that happen?"
"I don't know!" He seemed as freaked as I was. "I deleted it as soon as I sent it to myself though".
"Good". I was a little calmer now. "How is she?"
"She's on a lot of meds. I don't think she can even form a sentence properly, let alone tell me what she saw".
"I assume you're going to stay with her?" I asked with an eyebrow raised.
"No, I'm leaving now".
"Great, I'll meet you at yours so we can talk about what to do about this". Not waiting for a reply, I hung up. I quickly switched the TV off, grabbed my keys and left the house.
We were still trying to reach Scott, who was still missing, when we heard that his dad had gotten hit by a car trying to catch a mountain lion that had gotten loose in the school parking lot, so we rushed to the hospital immediately. I stayed with Stiles the entire time.
