It had been a few days since the incident at the school. Apparently, after my friends were rescued, Scott and Allison broke up. The school had also closed down for the meantime but was about to reopen.

One night, Stiles was going to try to make Scott feel better by taking him out on a 'boys night' that I wasn't invited to, so I decided to try and track the Alpha on Derek's behalf. Reckless, I know!

I was still searching for the Alpha's tracks when I heard voices. I followed the voices to see that Scott and Stiles were being harassed by two random people. In order to save my friends, I sped up to one of them and sunk my fangs into his neck. Before he could die, I let go of him and let him fall to the floor, making myself known. I slowly turned towards the other one and waited for him to run away in fear.

I turned to Scott and Stiles to see them looking at me in shock. "You just killed him!" Stiles exclaimed.

I rolled my eyes. "He's not dead, yet". I looked down at the guy lying unconscious at my feet and noted the blood pooling out of him. "But you should probably get him to a hospital, or he will die. And you should probably get out of here".

I watched as Stiles practically pushed Scott to his jeep before he turned around to face me. "Do you need a ride?"

"Nah, I'm good". I then sped away, leaving him standing there.

The next day, I got ready and waited. Stiles had agreed to be my driver to and from school until I got my car fixed. Other than the car rides, we hardly saw much of each other since he was with Scott and I was with Lydia helping Allison get over her breakup.

Later that day, the three of us were walking to class together. "Do you think I made the wrong decision?" Allison asked about Scott.

"About that jacket with that dress? Absolutely," Lydia replied, snidely. I rolled my eyes.

Allison gave her a knowing look. "You know what I mean".

She scoffed. "Hello? Scott locked us in a classroom and left us for dead. He's lucky we're not pressing charges, or making him pay our therapy bills..."

"If it makes you feel any better, I hear Scott's having just as hard a time with this as you are," I said with a comforting smile.

"How is that supposed to make me feel better?!" she asked, worried.

I shrugged my shoulders. "I don't know. I'm just saying you're not the only one struggling". I turned to her. "Seriously, I think Lydia's right on this one. Scott's one of my best friends and I don't want to see him hurt, but I think some space might be good for this relationship. It might help the two of figure out what it is you want". Lydia nodded as through agreeing with me.

The rest of the day was pretty uneventful. That night, I was meeting Scott and Stiles at the former's house to help with the full moon, despite Stiles trying to dissuade me after what happened last time.

I had just arrived when I heard Stiles speaking. "You kissed her, Scott! Okay? You kissed Lydia. That's, like, the one girl that I ev--
And, you know, the past three hours, I've been thinking, 'It's probably just the full moon,' you know? 'He doesn't even know what he's doing, and tomorrow, he'll be totally back to normal. He probably won't even remember what a complete dumbass he's been-- a son of a bitch, a freaking unbelievable piece of crap friend'—"

I couldn't hear any more, so I left. I couldn't ignore the slight stab in my chest as I kept replaying those words. I knew he liked Lydia, but that didn't make it hurt any less.

I had just arrived at home when my phone rang. I looked at the Caller ID and saw it was Stiles. Taking a deep breath, I answered. "Hello?"

"Where are you? I thought you were meeting us at Scott's".

"Yeah, sorry. I wasn't feeling well. Maybe it's an after-effect from the bite," I lied. "I would have called but-"

Before I could come up with an excuse, he cut me off. "I lost him".

I froze. "You lost him?! How do you lose a werewolf?"

"I don't know. I took my eyes off him for a second and when I looked back, he was gone".

I gave an exasperated sigh. "Alright. I'll see if I can find him".

"I'll come with you; I'll pick you up".

Before he could say more, I cut him off. "No. Go home, Stiles," I ordered in an attempt to keep him safe.

"No, I'm not letting you handle this alone, not after what happened last time-"

I cut him off again. "I already got the overprotective act from my brother; I don't need it from you too". Then I hung up before he had the chance to say anything and sped away.

I finally found Scott not far from Allison and Jackson. Derek was on top of him, holding him down. I walked up to them and we took Scott home.

Once we got to his house, he turned to us. "I need you two to tell me the truth-- is there a cure?"

I shook my head sadly. "I've never heard of a cure".

Scott started to look sad until Derek spoke up. "For someone who was bitten? I've heard of one. I don't know if it's true. You have to kill the one that bit you".

After we dropped Scott home, I turned to Derek with an eyebrow raised. "Is there really a cure for a bitten werewolf?" He shrugged his shoulders and dropped me home.

A/N: Sorry about the short chapter. This chapter was so difficult to write because of the whole 'Lydia' thing.
