As fast as I could, I grabbed Scott and sped him out of there. When I finally got him away from there, he practically shoved me away. "Why did you do that?!"
"A little 'thank you' would be nice. They were going to kill you," I reminded him.
"But Allison..."
"...will be fine. You forget that that's Allison's father, he's not going to let anything happen to her". After that, he seemed to calm down. I placed my hands on his arms in an effort to calm him down. "Why don't we head to the animal clinic where we can figure out what to do next?" He nodded so I sped the two of us down to the EMPTY animal clinic. I was hoping Deaton was there so he could advise us like he used to do for Talia.
Scott sat on the floor while I paced around the room trying to think of what to do next. Eventually, Scoot came up with an idea to find Derek. He led me into the woods and to a cliff overlooking Beacon Hills. He climbed on top of a large rock and howled as loud as he could.
It wasn't long before we heard a reply. We were easily able to track down the howl. That's how we discovered that Derek was being held in the bunker underneath his own house. We entered and we heard a voice. "Ready to have some more fun? To be honest, my knuckles are kinda hurting, so I brought some help. I need to warn you, I used to play in college". The man speaking was holding a baseball bat and was about to swing it at Derek.
Suddenly, Derek grabbed the baseball bat. "I brought a little help too". We took that as our cue.
I sped up to the hunter and sunk my fangs into his neck before tossing him aside to bleed while Scott went to talk to Derek. "Scott, help me with this," Derek pleaded.
"No, not until you tell me how to stop Peter," Scott replied.
I walked towards them. "Scott, we don't exactly have time for this. Reinforcements could arrive any minute," I warned.
He turned to me. "Then go and stand guard. Let us know if you hear anything".
"You have super-hearing too!" I whisper-yelled.
"Yours is greater than ours". I rolled my eyes then went to stand by the door while still keeping an ear open to listen to their conversation.
"He's going after Allison and her family. He's going to kill them," I heard Scott tell Derek. "So tell me how to stop him".
"You can't!" Derek replied. He shook his shackle. "I don't know when Kate's coming back, so just get me out of this right now!"
"Scott..." I warned.
He put his hand up to silence me. "Promise you'll help me".
"Do you want me to risk my life for your girlfriend? For your stupid little teenage crush that means absolutely nothing? You're not in love, Scott! You're sixteen years old! You're a child!"
I gave an exasperated sigh. "Just agree so we can get the hell out of here".
Scott paused. "Maybe you're right... But I know something you don't". That had us both listening. "Peter said he didn't know what he was doing when he killed your sister, right? He lied. Remember this?" He held up a piece of paper and showed it to Derek.
I walked over to them so I could see what was on the paper. When I did, I placed my hand over my mouth in shock. "Oh my god". The paper was of an incident report of something that happened not long before I returned to Beacon Hills. There was a picture of a dead deer with a spiral on it, the symbol for revenge.
That was all it took for Derek to agree to help us, so we freed him and left. We had just gotten out when Derek stopped us. "Something doesn't feel right. It's kinda like it was-"
