*Dream*
“You can’t die! No, please Drake!” Russell was smirking. “How could you? You’re an old hag!” He walked over to me, and slammed my head into the brick wall. “I hate you for telling, Charlie! You don’t deserve to live!” I cried as my vision blurred. “No! Please!” I slid down the wall, and he kicked me. “Don’t kill me!” I screamed as loud as I could.
*End of dream*
I woke up, choking. I have no clue why it happens every time. Drake ran in the room, without a baseball bat this time. “Another nightmare?” He walked over to the bed, and pulled me into his lap. I couldn’t speak, so I just remained to sob uncontrollably. He stroked my head, and whispered calming things in my ear. I calmed down enough to breathe normally again, and held him tighter. “You need to tell me what these dreams are about.” I shook my head. It hurt too much to talk about them, and I didn’t want to tell him that they were about me crying because Russell killed him. He grabbed my head, and tilted it up. I, of course, flinched. “I need you to tell me. Not as a bodyguard, but as your boyfriend too.” I took a deep breath. “It’s just about you dying and I’m sad.” “How do I die?” “You just do, ok?” I started crying again. “Shhh, it’s ok. Don’t cry, I’m right here.” He rubbed circles on my back. “Do you know who kills me?” I nodded. “Who?” He asked, raising my head up again. “Him.” I closed my eyes, and took a deep breath. “He was abusive. He hit me, punched me, slapped me....you name it.” I opened my eyes and tears started falling. I looked up at Drake, and his teeth were clenched, his body looked tense. “Who is he?” “My old boyfriend, Matt.” He clenched and unclenched his fists several times before calming down. “Why did he hit you?” I shrugged. “I told Matt about what Russell did when we first started going out, because I thought I could trust him. Little did I know, he knew my grandfather and soon told him. That’s why Matt abused me, because he was trying to keep me around for Russell to finish off when he got back from his trip to Kenya. I guess he’s back now. He always said I was pathetic. But he’s right, I am.” Drake stood up, and walked to the side of the bed I was on. I was still in his arms, so he put me back on my bed, and placed his hands on either side of my head, putting his face a few inches away from mine. I looked into his eyes, and couldn’t help the feelings I had for him at that moment. I loved the feeling, it was soothing. “Don’t ever call yourself pathetic. You’re not. You’re a strong, beautiful, smart girl, and I’m so lucky to have you.” I could see in his eyes that he really meant it, and it made me get butterflies in my stomach. “Really?” He nodded, and I couldn’t help the small smile on my face. He leaned down, and kissed me as I wrapped my arms around him. “Will you sleep in here tonight?” He nodded, and took his shirt off before getting under the covers with me. I wrapped my arms around him, and he did the same as he kissed the top of my head. “I love you, Charlie.” I got bigger butterflies in my stomach, and smiled. “I love you too.” And I really meant it.
*Next morning*
I woke up, and patted the bed next to me but no one was there. I looked around the room, but still no Drake. I stumbled to his room to see if maybe he was in there, but before I got to the door, I heard him speaking lowly. “Yes, Mr. Horan. I’ll make sure of it.” Make sure of what? Is he here? “Yes sir, I can assure you that your daughter will remain safe.” I heard him walk towards the door, and I took off back to my room. I laid down and pretended to be asleep. “Charlie, wake up.” I rolled over, and faced the opposite direction. “Charlie, your dad is on the phone.” I groaned, and held my hand out. “Hmmm?” I answered. “Charlie, I have a surprise for you.” I sat up, more focused on the conversation now. “What is it?” I said, now smiling. “Well, I got you plane tickets to fly over to the Bahamas tomorrow.” I jumped up, screaming. “Oh my gosh, thank you, thank you, thank you!” “I got you two extra tickets for Violet and Chris, and one for Mr. Smith of course. You’ll be staying for a month, and you have three rooms. One for Violet and Chris, one for you, and then theres one for Mr. Smith that’s joined to yours.” I opened my eyes wide, and smiled. I. LOVE. MY. DAD. “Thank you so much daddy!” I squealed. “Of course, sweet heart.” “Love you!” I hung up before he could respond. “We’re going to the Bahamas!” I jumped into Drake’s arms. “That’s great, when?!” “Tomorrow!” He kissed me, and sat down on the bed so I was straddling him, not once breaking the kiss. I was falling even more in love with him each day. He pulled me down on top of him, and I tangled my hands in his hair. He pulled away and smiled. “We better get packing.” I nodded. “Yeah, probably. Oh, I have to call Violet and Chris to tell them too.” He sighed. “Awww, do they have to come?” I laughed, honestly sad they had to. “Yes, it would be a little suspicious for me to go alone with my very attractive bodyguard.” “Fine...wait, I’m very attractive?” I threw something at him, and his eyes lit up when he saw that it was my bikini. I pulled out a bag, and started putting some clothes in it. Drake just watched me walk around the whole time. I couldn’t help but laugh. “You’e such a perverted little boy.” He smiled. “It’s hard not to be with a girl like you.” I blushed, and threw my phone at him this time. It landed in his lap, and he looked at me shocked. “Did you just throw that at me?” I could hear amusement clear in his voice. I stood there for a while, trying to think of an answer. When nothing came to mind, I took off running through the door. “Hey, you think you can out run your own bodyguard?” I kept running until I reached his room. I was stuck. I looked around, and decided to hide in the closet. I got behind the door, and tried to breathe quietly. “Charlie...?” He was in his room, and I could see him walking around through the little crack in the door. “I know you’ve been in here. I can sense it.” I giggled lightly, and put a hand over my mouth. “What? I hear you...are you in th-OUCH!” He hit his leg on the side of the bed, and almost tripped. I giggled again, and put my hand over my mouth to try and stop. “Are you in the closet?” He came in, and search under the bottom rack. I squeezed back in the corner, and held my breath. I took this opportunity to run before he found me, so I ran out the door. “Gotcha!” I could hear him following me, so I ran faster. I got back to my room, and looked around for a spot. “You better not hide again.” He whispered in my ear. I jumped a mile high, and fell onto my bed. “You can’t get away from me, angel.” He leaned down, and kissed my neck. I wrapped my arms around his back and dug my fingers into it. He sucked slightly, and I could feel him smirking against my skin. “D-don’t do that. I’m going t-to kill you.” I don’t think I was very convincing, because he kept sucking there. He pulled away, and smiled proudly. “Drake, if that made a hickey, you better run.” He got both of my hands, and pinned them above my head. “I don’t need to run if you can’t catch me.” He leaned down, and kissed me passionately. We pulled away, breathless. “Well, I guess you should go pack?” “Will you help me, please?” He wrapped his arms around my waist, and kissed my neck again. “Y-yeah.” “Thanks angel.” He let go of me, and smirked at how I was so weak. “Come on, lover boy.” I drug him to his room, and pulled out one of his unpacked bags. “Which shorts?” He pointed to a pair in my hand. “Shirts?” He shrugged. “Are you going to help me, or just sit there like a clueless little boy?” “I prefer to watch you walk around.” He winked. “That’s it, I’m out.” I laughed, walking back to my room, and continuing to pack. He came up behind me, and wrapped his arms around my waist. I jerked forward, and my body was tense. “Are you scared for people to touch you?” How did he know? I nodded slowly. “Is it because of Matt?” I didn’t really like talking about it, so I just shrugged. “Just a weird phobia I have.” He sighed. “Is it because of Matt?” I nodded again. “How do you know this?” “Just guessed.” I nodded. Speaking of Matt, I wonder if that phone call was about Russell? There was something he wasn’t telling me, and I knew exactly how to get it out of him. I sat down, and patted the bed next to me. He sat down, unsure about what was going to happen next, and I smiled. “What exactly did my dad tell you on the phone this morning?” I said, as I sat on his lap, straddling him. “U-umm...I-I...” Definitely working. “I can’t tell you?” “Please, babe?” I traced over his six pack, and bit my lip. “Oh, lord. I can’t tell you.” I frowned, and got off of him. “Ok, that’s fine.” I went back to packing as if nothing ever happened. “Don’t make this so hard on me, I still have a job here too.” I rolled my eyes. “You’re right.” No matter what he said, I knew this was getting to him. “Babe, don’t be mad. You don’t need to be involved in this, I don’t want you to worry.” I raised an eyebrow. “Why would I worry?” He shrugged. “It’s complicated.” I nodded again. I understood why he couldn’t tell me, and I wasn’t mad...I just wanted to know. “Is it about Russell being close?” My voice was barely above a whisper. “No, it’s not.” I sighed, and sat down on his lap. “I can tell you that he isn’t. That’s all I can say as of now, though.” I nodded, and hugged him. “I understand. Your job is your job, and you can’t break certain rules.” I remained calm on the outside, but on the inside I was scared to death. I pushed my thoughts aside, and continued to pack. When Drake left to pack some of his own things in his room, I laid down and stared at the ceiling fan. Even if something was seriously wrong, I knew Drake would do anything to protect me. I had no doubt about that. “What are you thinking about, angel?” I hadn’t even noticed him before he spoke up. “Oh, nothing. Just about vacation. Speaking of, I should probably go call Violet now.” I picked up the phone, and dialed her number. On the second ring, she answered. “Charlie! How’s my fav cousin?” “Good, I have some big news.” She gasped. “What? You’re not preggers are you?” Why would she even think that? I laughed, anyway. “No, definitely not. Dad called, and he’s flying you, me, and Chris to the Bahamas!” I left out Drake, because I didn’t want it to seem like I was excited for him to come. “OMG are you serious?! Ahhh! Chris, guess what!” She accidentally hung up on me, but I was thankful since she was bursting my eardrums with her screaming. “Jesus, I could hear her from my room.” I laughed, as he sat on the bed with me. “I think I’m pretty much packed now.” “Me too, I haven’t eaten all day. Want some food?” He nodded. We walked to the kitchen and made two sandwiches. For the remainder of the day, we just stayed inside and watch movies. We were now on our 5th movie, Toy Story 3. Yes, we watch Disney movies. “My phone buzzed, so I pulled it out of my pocket. ‘Private number: Watch your back, your little body guard can’t protect you all the time.’ My blood ran cold, and I could barely breathe. “D-drake.” “What’s wrong?” I handed him my phone. He took in a deep breath, and closed his eyes. “Let’s go to my room.” He wrapped me in his arms, and we walked down the hall. He was very tense, unlike usual. He still had my phone, so he plugged it up to the computer in his room. A whole bunch of numbers flashed across the screen before one appeared. It finally stopped on one with the initials ‘RM’ at the top. His eyes widened, but I was totally confused. Tears started forming in my eyes, and Drake pulled me on his lap like always. “It’s ok. No one is going to hurt you, I promise.” I nodded. “I’m here, always. I love you Charlie, I won’t let anyone hurt you.” “I know...thank you. Will you sleep in my room tonight?” He kissed the top of my head. “Of course.” He carried me to my room, and laid me down on the bed. “I’ll be right back, I have to go close the computer so no one can access that profile.” I nodded, and laid on top of the sheets. I slowly drifted off into sleep, before Drake got back.
