“Our plane is this way!” I screamed, as I ran to our terminal. We were a little late, because there was a huge line for bag check. I thought it was a little weird that we hadn’t heard them say something like ‘now boarding flight 203 to the bahamas’ but I didn’t have much time to think. “Where’s Vi?” We looked around, but no sign of her. “We lost Violet?! Chris, what did I tell you about keeping an eye on her? She gets lost very easily.” “I’m sorry! I lost her when we were walking so fast.” Just then, we saw two cops walking with hot pink luggage. “Found her.” Chris jogged over to the cops and said something before he came back over to us with the luggage in hand. “They were looking for her friends. She’ll be here in a minute.” I sighed, impatiently, and kept an eye out for her. A few seconds later, she came sprinting around the corner, and looked around franticly. “Violet!” I ran after her, and soon caught up. “I knew you wouldn’t leave me!” She hugged me. “Of course not. Now, we’re going to be late for our flight!” I grabbed her hand, and ran back to our terminal. Chris was walking through the door towards the plane with our luggage, and Drake waited where he was like a good little bodyguard. Violet caught up with Chris, and jumped on his back. I wished that I could do that with Drake, like a normal couple, but sadly he was my security. “What are you thinking about?” He asked when I reached him. “Nothing. Just ready to get there.” We continued to walk down the long hallway leading to the plane. I could see the door, and it looked like a really nice plane, although I hadn’t seen the outside. “Your dad had one more little surprise.” I raised an eyebrow, and stepped onto the plane. “A...private jet?!” He nodded. It was so shiny and nice inside. There were leather couches, and a bedroom type thing on one side. “This. is. awesome!” Violet came out of the bedroom with a huge grin on her face. I smiled, and continued looking around. “I call the bedroom!” I announced to everyone. That means Violet and Chris would have to be out on the couches. Drake probably would be too, but I’d find a way to sneak him in. “Aww, man! I’m NOT sleeping on that couch.” “Oh, yes you are.” I ran for the bedroom door, and locked it before she could get in. “Ugh, this is SO not fair!” I laughed to myself, and went to my suitcase in the corner. Let’s see, what do I have to occupy me while we’re waiting on the plane to take off? I looked around in my bag, until the loudspeaker came on. “Ladies and gentleman, I’m sorry to have to tell you that due to bad weather, we wont be able to take off at this time. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.” I looked out the little window, and the sky was crystal clear. I thought he said ‘bad weather’? I walked up to the flight attendant. “Excuse me, didn’t he say there was bad weather?” I gestured to the window. “Oh, yes. But it’s not here, its at the airport where we would be landing.” I nodded. “Ok, thanks.” I walked over to everyone else on the couches, and sat down next to Drake. “So now what?” Violet shrugged, and turned to Chris. “We could make out?” “Ok.” She sat down in his lap, and I looked at Drake. “We’re not going to sit here and watch you guys make out.” I grabbed his hand, and pulled him to the bedroom. I slammed the door, and sat down on the bed. Drake sat down next to me, and cupped my face. “You know, no one can see us in here.” I nodded, and kissed him softly on the lips. “Why do you think I came in here?” He smiled and kissed me again, this time longer. “You know, you’re the first guy I’ve ever felt comfortable being with besides family?” He kissed my forehead. “I’m glad you’re comfortable with me. It would be pretty hard to kiss you if you flinched every time I got close to you like you used to.” I was about to kiss him again, when Violet started banging on the door. We both jumped a mile high, and stared at the door. “What, Vi?” “Open up.” I walked over to the door, and swung it open. “What’s up with you? You seem all flustered.” She glanced over to Drake, and gasped. “What?” I said, trying to be cool. “You wouldn’t.” I tilted my head to the side, and gave her a confused look. “Wouldn’t what?” She gave me a look that led me to believe I wasn’t fooling her. “You and...him...” “NO!” I interrupted her, laughing as if the whole thing was ridiculous. “Oh, ok. You really scared me there for a minute.” I just smiled, and thanked God that she didn’t figure that one out. “Ladies and Gentlemen, please go to your designated seats, we will be taking off shortly.” We walked back out to the couches, and buckled up. “So, the other day, what did you tell Pierce?” I said low enough for Violet and Chris not to hear. “I just told him that things got out of hand, and there was nothing going on between us.” “And he believed it?” Wow, we might’ve gotten lucky with this dude. “Yeah, he totally bought it.” “Bought what? Oooh, I want to go shopping in the Bahamas! Will you come with me, Charlie?” Violet was rambling so quickly that I could barely understand her. “I’m not here to shop, Vi. Sorry, but I bet Chris will go, won’t you Chris?” I just threw him under the bus...”Uh, sure.” I don’t think he heard our previous conversation, because he was too busy talking about how all of the people looked like ants now. Oh well, sucks for him. “I’m putting my swimsuit on, and going straight for the water, first thing.” Violet and Chris would be out shopping, which means Drake and I would be by ourselves. The flight attendant came by with some snacks, and drinks. The food was a lot better on a privet jet then it was on a regular airplane. There was a ding, and I looked up to see that the seatbelt sign went off. “Well, I’m going to my room.” Drake looked up at me with pleading eyes, but I had a plan, so I just winked at him. I walked to my room, and closed the door for about a minute before opening it again. “Mr. Smith, my dad is on the phone, and wants to speak to you.” You can’t make phone calls on a plane, but Violet and Chris were too dumb to realize that. “Be right there.” He unbuckled his seatbelt, and walked towards me. Once he was inside, I shut the door. “My dad said you need to stay in here with me and cuddle because it’s cold.” He laughed, and put an arm around me, pulling me into his chest. “Much better.” He put an arm under my butt, and lifted me up onto the bed. He sat beside me, with both arms wrapped tightly around my torso. We sat there for a while enjoying each others company, until the flight attendant knocked on the door. I moved so Drake could go answer it. “Sorry to bother you, sir, but someone’s on the phone for you.” She pointed back to the planes phone, which was for emergencies. He smiled at me, before walking to the phone, and out of my sight. It must’ve been my dad, or another security guy. I pushed my thoughts aside, as I looked out at the water now under the plane. It was a really pretty blue, and I couldn’t wait to go sit on the beach in the warm sun. Drake walked back in, and his face was as pale as snow. “Who was that?” He sat down, and I could’ve sworn there was a tear in his eye. I hugged him, unsure of what he was about to say. “What’s wrong?” He shook his head in disbelief. “I...they have pictures...” “Of what? Who has them?” He looked at me, and sighed. “Someone took pictures of us at the park hugging. They sent them to your dad.” My heart stopped beating for a few seconds, and I stopped breathing. “Wh-what?” “Your dad told me that I wasn’t allowed to be your bodyguard anymore...I’m your far guard. Pierce will be your bodyguard.” I couldn’t even form words, and I could barely stand up, so I sat on the bed and cried my eyes out. “Don’t cry, baby. It’s going to be ok.” “Ok? How are things going to be ok?” I rolled over and buried my head in the pillow. “I’ll still get to see you, I just won’t be able to follow you everywhere.” I nodded, and wiped my puffy eyes. “There’s one more thing...” “What?” He twiddled his thumbs nervously, and looked at me. “Please don’t be sad, ok?” I nodded. “I can’t stay with you on this trip. He’s flying Pierce in.” “No, no you can’t leave me! You know I don’t trust anyone but you!” He smiled sadly, and nodded. “Try your hardest for me. I trust Pierce, he’s a nice dude. I’ll be able to see you in a month. We can talk on the phone every night.” I cried even harder, because he and I both knew that Pierce wouldn’t be able to touch me without me freaking out. “Baby, please stop crying. You know this kills me just as much as it kills you.” I nodded, and threw my arms around him. “I love you.” “I love you too, Charlie.” I unwrapped one of my arms from his waist, and wiped the remaining tears from my eyes. “Please buckle up in your seats, we’ll be landing shortly.” Drake stood up, then helped me stand before giving me one last kiss, and walking back out to the couch. Violet looked up at me, and frowned. “Babe, what happened?!” “Oh, dad just chewed me out for my grades. Nothing major.” She rolled her eyes. “That man is too hard on you.” I just fake laughed, and looked out of the window where the plane was slowly approaching the ground. Just a few more feet until Drake has to leave, and Pierce will have to meet us. Oh, joy. The landing gear came down, and we landed safely on the ground. The flight attendant came by when it was safe, and told us we could unbuckle and get off of the plane. Once inside, Drake turned to me. “I guess this is goodbye. Just for a little while.” I nodded, trying to hold back the tears threatening to fall. Violet and Chris went to the bathroom before we got in our rental car, so it was just Drake and I now. “I’m going to miss you so much.” I nodded, and stood on my tiptoes to kiss him one last time. I placed a quick peck on his lips, and smiled. “Aren’t you worried someone’s going to see?” I shook my head. “I don’t even care at this point.” “Well in that case...” He leaned down, and gave me a long, lingering kiss. “I love you, and I’ll see you really soon, ok? Call me if you need me.” I smiled, and nodded. “I love you too.” “Charlie?” I turned around to see Violet waving me over. I turned back to Drake, and smiled. “Bye.” I reluctantly turned around, and walked over to Violet. “Where’s he going?” “Oh, change of plans. Some other guy is coming to replace him, I dunno.” I pretended like I couldn’t care less about this whole situation, but really I was dying inside. “Oh, well we should probably go to our car.” I followed Violet and Chris, feeling like a third wheel.
