I was watching t.v. with my pillow pet, Carl, (Yes, I named him Carl. He was an adorable little penguin that I got last year from my dad.) Anyway, Carl and I were watching 'Say Yes to the Dress' when there was a knock at the door. "What?" I said a little harshly. "It's Ryan." He replied in a hushed voice. I sighed, and got up to unlock the door. He held a finger up to his mouth, telling me to be quiet. I raised an eyebrow, and followed him to the backdoor. It was open, and Pierce and Drake were arguing about...me. I peeked around the corner so I could hear better. "You hurt her. She deserves better than you." "Oh, so you didn't hurt her when you let her get kidnapped by a bunch of guys?! He almost had her!" I looked at Ryan, who was listening on the other side of the door. "She forgave me though! At least she still talks to me." Pierce said, crossing his arms. Right then and there, I could tell Drake was about to lose it. I didn't want either of them getting hurt, so I signaled for Ryan to go interrupt. "Hey, what's going on?" They both froze, and turned to look at Ryan. Drake took one last glance before storming off towards the house. I hid in a near by curtain, and waited until I heard his door slam. I looked through the window, and Pierce was walking around the house, while Ryan walked back inside. "What did they say?" "Nothing. Not one word." I put on a fake smile, and turned to go get some ice cream. "You ok?" I nodded, and pulled out some Ben and Jerry's. "Just peachy." He sighed. "You can tell me, it's ok." I slammed the ice cream on the counter and grabbed motioned for him to follow me to my room. I closed the door, and turned to him, not being able to hold back my tears any longer. He put a hand on my shoulder, and for once, I barley even flinched. I really needed a friend right now, and Violet would just tell everyone she knew. "It's ok, shhh, don't worry. He's a jerk. He's not worth your time. He just needs to be kicked in the balls a few times." I looked up at him, and half smiled. "Thank you for being here for me. Really, you don't know how much I appreciate it." "Anytime." For the remainder of the day, Ryan and I watched movies. First it was Marley and Me, then Gossip girl (yes I made him watch it), then Abduction, and now we're watching Grease. If Uncle Louis were here right now, he'd say, 'Back when I was a kid, I was in this play!' Man, I sure do miss him. In the middle of the movie, I fell asleep on Ryan's shoulder.
"Don't touch her ever again!" It was the middle of the night, and I heard someone screaming. I quickly sprang off of the bed, and went downstairs to see what was wrong. "Calm down. She was just upset, and I tried to help her." Ryan answered back calmly. "You know what, I don't even care anymore! Obviously she doesn't love me." "You really think she doesn't love you anymore? Why would she be so upset that you haven't apologized if she didn't love you?" Silence filled the room, and I left before I could hear anything else that they said. It was true, I did love him. A lot actually, but I'm not willing to forgive someone who isn't sorry. I fell half asleep, and when the door opened I pretended to be out. Drake stepped in, and laid a blanket on the floor before laying on top of it. Ha-ha, sucker.
I woke up to the smell of bacon. Drake wasn't on his little 'pallet', so he must be making breakfast for everyone. I combed my hair before running downstairs to the delicious food. "Oh, hey Ryan." He turned around, and smiled. "Hey, think I was Drake?" I nodded. "He's gone to the store. Had to pick up a few things." "Oh, alright." It's not like I cared...I don't even consider us to be dating anymore. As far as I'm concerned, I'm single. After Ryan was done cooking, we sat down to eat. Pierce joined us a little later, and we all talked while munching on the delicious food. "I'll clean up." I offered, and Ryan added, "I'll help you." Pierce went upstairs, while I cleared the table off. "You wash, I'll dry?" He nodded, turned the water on, and started scrubbing the pots and pans. "Missed a spot." I handed the frying pan back over to him. He scrubbed it once more, and handed it to me. "Missed it again." He groaned in frustration as he took it back, yet again. The third time he handed it to me, I inspected it carefully. "Ok, are you blind, Ryan?!" "I'm just not very good at this. Wanna trade?" I sighed, and stepped over in front of the sink. I flicked water at him, and stuck my tongue out. "Hey, two can play that game." I raised an eyebrow as he cupped his hand under the water, and flung it at me. "Oh, it's on!" I got the spray hose, and aimed it straight a his face. After a little while, we got tired of water, so somehow flour got involved. We were both coated from head to toe in goop. "We should probably go rinse off before Drake gets home." I agreed, and followed him to the backyard. He turned to water hose on, and sprayed me off. My clothes were dripping wet, and clinging to my body. "Missed a spot." I teased. He narrowed his eyes, and began walking towards me. I was quick to turn around and run, even though I knew he would catch up to me. I glanced over my shoulder, and he was gaining on me. I found a little cove in the house, so I hid in it. "I got you now." He was smirking, and walking towards me. I noticed his eyes looked more blue than before. And his cheeks were slightly pink from the running. When he was right in front of me, I looked at his eyes again. "Ryan?" "Yeah?" I took a step towards him. The next few words I was about to say, were all too familiar. "Kiss me." A look of total shock crossed his face before he crashed his lips against mine. He pushed me up against the brick wall, and cupped my face with his hand. His kiss was rougher than Drake's, but I didn't think much about it. "Ryan! Where are y-" We both turned around to see Pierce standing there. "Don't. Tell. Anyone." He nodded, and ran back to the house. Ryan turned, and led me back over behind the house where the water hose was. "Now I'm going to have to wash off again." He smiled, and shrugged. "Your turn." I grabbed the hose, and began spraying him off. I was humming 'Drunk' by Ed Sheeran. He was a nice man, I've only met him a few times over at Uncle Harry's house, and two out of three times they were both drunk...ironic, right? I began singing, not even realizing Ryan was there. "You have a great voice." I blushed, but didn't say anything. "I guess since Niall Horan is your dad, it makes since." I nodded. "I miss him a lot. He's always gone, I feel like he doesn't have time for me. I mean, I love my mom and everything...I just want to see my dad too." I shrugged nonchalantly. "Yeah, but that's not true. He's just a busy man, that's all. I know he's missing you too. If he had one spare second he'd be spending it with you." I smiled a little bit, thinking of all the fun times we had together. "Ok, you're clean." We walked over to the back door together, and froze. "Crap, we don't have towels." I laughed. "I have an idea. take off everything but your boxers, and I'll do the same. You close your eyes, and I can lead you through the house." "Ok, good plan." He turned around, and I took off all of my clothes, except for my bra and panties. He stripped down to his boxers, and closed his eyes as I led him through the house. "Ok, turn right...NO! Your other right." We were almost down the hall when, none other than, Drake walked out of his room. "What's going on?" I froze dead in my tracks, causing Ryan to run into me. "Err..." "Go to your room and put some clothes on. We'll talk about this later." I nodded, and speed-walked to my room, since I was still half naked. I quickly changed into some sweatpants and a t-shirt before going downstairs. Had to face him sometime, right? As I was about to enter the kitchen, my cell phone rang. It was my friend, Chloe. Yes, friend. We were best friends in my old town before we moved, and we still keep in touch. All of that was before Matt and Russell, so I actually trusted people and had friends. "Hello?" "Charlie, is that you?" She answered, almost sobbing. "Yeah, what's wrong Chloe?" "Charlie, you're the only friend I have. Dylan...he cheated on me. I left him, now I don't have anywhere to go." Dylan was her boyfriend, even back before I left. "Oh, that's terrible! With who?" "...Lori..." I gasped. Lori was her younger...way younger sister. In fact, she was about four years younger than Chloe, making her five years younger than Dylan. "Chloe, I'm so sorry. If I could help, I would." She sighed. "No, I'm coming to your house." "What?! How did you find it?!" Ryan and Pierce came running over to me, asking who was on the phone. I waved them off, and continued my conversation. "I went to your old house, and your mom gave me your new address." "Oh, ok...uh, I'll see you in a little while then." As soon as I hung up, questions were flying at me. "Who was that? What did they want? Why were you so panicked?" I rolled my eyes, and started walking up the stairs. "My friend Chloe is coming to visit." I answered, and continued up to my room. Right when I was in front of Drakes door, it opened and he came out. I froze, and looked up at him. He took a step towards me, while I took a step back before entering my room and shutting the door behind me. My heart was pounding, it was just like it used to be. The way I would freak out when anyone got near me, or touched me. That's what happens when you lose my trust. I drug myself out of my bedroom when the doorbell rang. Pierce had managed to get to the door before me, but I opened the door wider to see them staring at each other. "Chloe Gilberts?" She smiled behind her tears. "Pierce Woods." "Oh, so you two know each other?" They both nodded. "We went to school together. A long time ago." I invited Chloe in, and went in the kitchen to make some tea. When I came back, they were talking about old friends, and teachers. "Oh, you know Mrs. Woods? She was the worst! I swear, I've never seen anyone give out so much homework." They both smiled at me as I walked back in the room. "Well, it seems like you've got this well in hand, Pierce. If you'll excuse me, I'm going to go to my room now." I ran up the stairs, and heard Ryan excuse himself from them shortly after me. "Charlie, wait up." I turned around and waited for him to catch up to me. He motioned me into his room, shutting the door behind us. "I wanted to talk about what happened earlier." I swallowed hard, not entirely sure if I wanted to.
