The next morning, I woke up in the same position that I had fallen asleep in. An arm hung loosely around me, but I knew it was Pierce's, so I didn't really care. I slowly got up without waking Pierce, and headed down to breakfast in my pajamas. I was fully aware that Drake and Ryan were both watching me, but I refused to look. I grabbed my bagel and some coffee before sitting by myself over at a table. Somehow Pierce managed to get his plate of bacon and come find me in the five minutes that I had been sitting there. "Is this seat taken, ma'am?" I laughed, rolling my eyes at the same time. "You're so weird." He smirked. "In a good way, right?" I had to hold back more laughter when he ran a hand through his hair. "Is there a good kind of weird?" He nodded vigorously. "You're looking at him." I stifled back the laugh that was threatening to escape, and glanced over at Drake. He was looking at me with a pained expression. "Someone doesn't look too happy." He gestured over to where I was looking. "Not my fault." I shrugged, like I couldn't care less. "Hey, I need a new phone battery, do you think you could take me to get one?" He gave me a questioning look before answering. "Sure, we'll go get one after we eat and get dressed." I quickly finished my food so I would have time to get ready before he did.
"It's so nice to have a phone again." I sighed happily. I had 42 missed calls from Drake that were from last night after I took my battery out, 3 texts from Violet asking why I wouldn't answer, and a call from Ryan last night. Glad to know you care, Ryan. I laughed to myself, which resulted in a strange look from Pierce. "Oh, sorry. I was just thinking about something." He nodded, smiling. "Hey, you wanna stop for lunch on the way home?" I nodded, feeling my empty stomach growl. We both laughed as he pulled into a little burger place. After we ordered, I spotted a table and went to go save it while Pierce got the drinks. I was learning more and more about him every day, and he really wasn't a bad guy. "I got you tea, hope that's ok." He smiled, putting the cup in front of me. "Perfect." I said, smiling back. We sat there for a while, just enjoying the silence until Pierce looked at me like he wanted to say something. "What?" He let out a little laugh, and opened his mouth for a second before speaking. "Drake was an idiot for letting you go." It took a while for his words to sink in, but after they did, I smiled. "You're too sweet." After the waiter brought us our food, my now-working phone buzzed in my back pocket. Ryan: Where are you? I turned to Pierce, who was chowing down on his food. "Did you forget to tell Ryan where we were?" His face immediately changed into a guilty expression. At that moment, I felt like taking a picture of him. He looked like a little boy who had just been caught stealing a cookie by his dad. "Oops." I couldn't help but laugh at him for a second, then going to text Ryan back. With Pierce, went to go get a phone battery. Be back soon. I slid my phone back into my pocket, and ate the rest of my food.
When we got back to the hotel, the boys were both watching reruns of Friends. I didn't say anything, but instead plopped down on the bed. "Pierce, I need to speak with you in the hallway." Ryan said, standing up with Pierce following. Great, way to leave me here guys. I could feel Drake's eyes burning into me, but I refused to look up. He stood up and walked over to me, so I finally glanced up at him. "Charlie, can we please just talk about it?" I shook my head, still looking up at him. "No, there's nothing to talk about anymore, you're nothing to me." As I spoke those last words, a part of me died. It was partially a lie, because I knew that I wasn't over him. But, I was making myself try to move onto something or someone else.
We stayed in Texas for a few more days, and on the last day I went to go get breakfast as usual, before everyone woke up. However, I noticed that Drake wasn't in his bed when I left, or downstairs. Whatever, he's probably out doing something weird like always. As if on cue, my phone buzzed, and I pulled it out to see a text from Drake. Tell the guys to meet me at the courthouse fast. I found Russell.
