Daisies

Today for once you weren't late.
There was early volleyball practice and you really didn't want to miss that.

You made it to school without any distractions.
Today was going well....
....too well.

You were never this lucky

"Y/N!" You looked over and saw your favourite little tangerine.

"HINATA!" You ruffled his curls. You could do that forever.....

"Y/n....? We need to go to school"

You had spaced out.
"Whoops sorry cutie"

"CUTIE????"

"It's a brand of orange Hinata" you smiled at the flustered boy. "Let's go"

It was a hot day. The kind that makes you feel sleepy.
The morning practice didn't help.

You trudged you class exhausted. You were walking with Kageyama.

"Um.. y/n? Can we hangout after school?"

"REALLY?" You asked. "I thought I was gonna have to make the first move. You are always so quiet except when giving out to Hinata...."

You waved goodbye and ran away to class.
"ILL SEE YOU LATER MILK MAN"

Class was longggggg. And boring. And it was hot.

"Ugh I'm so sweaty" you groaned.

"We didn't need to know that" the salty boi remarked.

"BUT ITS HOT, I THINK IM GONNA DIE"

"Shit y/n stop shouting. We don't care."

You raised your fist. "Oh ya? I'll make you care"

Yamaguchi turned around to you. "I thought you two were getting along now" he whispered.

I mean he wasn't wrong. Your relationship with Tsukishima had changed dramatically. You had a better understanding of each other now. But I think he enjoyed bickering with you. It was your way of communicating.

"Your right Yams, we love each other now" you made a kissy face at the salt shaker.

You expected him to tell you to shut up but instead he blushed and turned away.

Damn that boy is confusing.

"Hey milk man." You skipped up to the raven haired boy and proceeded to jump on his back. "ONWARDS AND UPWARDS!"

"I'm not carrying you" he dropped you off his back.

"Fine, I'll carry you then." Your stubborn ass decided that if he wasn't gonna carry you, that meant you were gonna carry him.

Kageyama was not having any of it. He ran out the school gates as fast as he could.

"OI YOU GOT A HEADSTART, ILL GET YOU BITCH"

You sped after him. Luckily you were faster than him and soon caught up. You jumped and tackled him.
Rugby style, your arms wrapped around his waist.
The pair of you tumbled into a field filled with daisies. The sun was setting. It was truly beautiful.

You had landed on top of him, but quickly rolled off, laughing.

"You're pretty fast" he commented.
He was out of breath, his face flushed from the exercise. His cheeks tinted pink with the last sunlight of the day shining on him. You had never seen him look like this. He was smiling.

You forgot to speak, mesmerised by the boy in front of you.

"Y/n?"

"AH YES P-PRETTY"

"That's what I said. You're pretty fast."

You had meant he was pretty but you were not going to correct him.
You lay in the soft green grass. It was so lush. The smell of it being freshly cut was relaxing.

Kageyama looked at you smiling before lying beside you.

You picked the daisies from the ground, slowly pulling off their petals. You sat up.
"Hey come look at me a sec"

Kageyama obliged and sat facing you, his legs crossed.
You leaned over and tucked a daisies in his hair, balancing on his ear.
You paused looking into his eyes. His eyes were wide, looking at you full of curiosity.

He tucked you hair behind your ear. He was so careful with you. This side of him was so sweet.
Your faces were so close to each other. You could feel his hot breath against your face.
He cupped your face with his left hand, leaning closer....

"OI WHAT ARE YOU HOOLIGANS DOING IN MY FIELD?"
An old man was waving his cane at you.

"Fuck" you stood up, grabbing Kageyama's hand. You smiled at him. "Let's run"

"I'm-so...tired" you wheezed.

"Still want to carry me?" Kageyama looked down at you.

You never realised how much of a height difference there was. Your hands were still intertwined but you didn't let go. His hand was warm.

You spotted a bench on the street and pulled Kageyama over to it.
As you both sat down, you rested your head on his shoulder. It was completely dark now.
The street light lit up the empty street.
You never wanted this to end.

Suddenly your phone rang.
"Awww shit, sorry Kageyama" you answered the phone without looking at the contact name.

"Y/n,my dearest? Why aren't you at home? I climbed in through your window but you aren't here...."

It was Tendou.

"Tendou, did you make Ushijima climb through the window too?"

"No of course not. I climbed in and opened the door for him. We're making dinner so come home soon. I know how much you love Ushijima's cooking"

You were drooling just thinking of the food. You hadn't realised how hungry you were.
"Alright, I'll be home in 10 minutes"

"Love you byeeeeeeeee"

"Love you too Tendou"
You hung up the phone and turned to a confused Kageyama.
"Are you dating Tendou?"

"Huh....." you stared at him. Was he jealous?
"No way, we're just really close friends. He's like a brother to me"

"So he just comes into your house whenever he wants?"

"Pretty much, but it's ok. He brings Ushijima and they cook me food so it works."

"I can walk you ho-"

"No need" you waved him off. " I'll see you in school tomorrow"

There was no way you would let Tendou see you get walked home. He would have a field day...
