Chapter 6

Donghyuck feels guilty. Not only guilty, but shocked. So the person that would face consequences of Donghyuck living a free life would be Mark's sister?! Is that why Mark never let him leave? But now he is! So his sister would be killed?! How could his father do something like this?! But most of all... why didn't Donghyuck treat Mark kindly? His friends were right. He was being a bitch. Mark DID care about him. Donghyuck takes a deep breath and walks down the stairs. When Jeno catches sight of him, he gets up from the couch and bows down. Mark looks up confused, but when he sees Donghyuck, he jumps up as well and wipes his tears.

"We're eating breakfast together, let's go." Donghyuck grabs Mark's wrist gently and pulls him into the garage. Mark is surprised, but doesn't say anything until they sit in the car.

"W-where are we going to g-go?"

"Pancake House."

"O-okay."

The drive stays kind of silent until Donghyuck plays the radio. He begins singing along to the song and Mark listens intently, loving the sweet voice of the male next to him. When they arrive, Donghyuck stops singing and both boys leave the car and enter the breakfast place. They find themselves a seat and order.

"What would you like to have?" The waiter asks them.

"Hazelnut pancake deluxe and pink milk." Mark tells the waiter.

"I would like Maple syrup cakes please." Donghyuck tells the waiter after Mark and the waiter leaves after taking the order. Donghyuck speaks up. "How childish, you like Hazelnut pancakes and pink milk." He teases.

"Well thank you very much, but I will always like my childish food Mr.Boomer!" Mark huffs.

"Wow. Aren't you older than me? Technically, you're the boomer."

"I am insulted by a child! Oh the horror!" Mark dramaticisez and then realizes who he's talking to. Mark suddenly becomes quiet.

"Why'd you stop talking?" Donghyuck asks and Mark scratches his neck awkwardly and embarrassed.

"Y-you might get a-annoyed with me s-so..."

"No, I like how you talk, you're fun."

"T-thanks..." After Mark says this, the orders arrive and, since Mark is starving, he digs right in. Donghyuck watches the cute baby in front of him snarf down pancakes. When Mark looks up, he blushes, seeing how Donghyuck is looking at him.

"D-don't look at me like that." Mark stutters. He wipes his mouth with his hand, self-conscious. But, of course, he missed a spot.

"You missed a spot." Donghyuck reaches his hand out and using his thumb, Donghyuck wipes some hazelnut spread from the corner of Mark's lips.

"Thank you." Mark's face becomes a deeper shade of red, but he smiles a cute smile which makes Donghyuck's heart skip a beat.

"So cute..." Donghyuck whispers under his breath, which goes unnoticed by Mark. When the two boys finish, Donghyuck takes Mark home, and their relationship gets a tiny bit better. Even if it's not much, it's progress.
