Kristy's POV
Back at the hotel, we washed up from our morning at the beach.
The tour was heading to a local winery this evening and afterward, we planned to meet with Eros to take us to the local night club.
I couldn't suppress this giddy feeling building in my stomach as I finished getting ready."You look nice! But I hope you're not planning on wearing that to the club later." Emms said.
"No Eros said we're meeting back here so I figured I'd change again before the club."
"Good! My thoughts exactly! You have to look irresistibly sexy tonight! You know...for Eros..." she bobbed her eyebrows again.
"I don't know What you're talking about! I'm not planning on any flings with any guys Emms!"
"Oh! My! God! Don't deny it, girl! You and Eros have something going on! I've seen the way you look at him, Kristy! You can't hide it from me! And boy have I seen him eying you All! Kinds! Of ways!" she says fanning herself.
I roll my eyes and drag her by the arm out of the hotel to meet up with the tour.
I didn't really know what to say as I thought about it. There was something there I just couldn't put it into words. It felt like this magnetic gravitating around us, pushing us together. That if I wanted to, I couldn't stop it...but did I want to stop it?
Could I really like Eros? I mean already? I can't possibly get over Nicolas that fast! We spent four years of our lives together! We planned a future together! We travel back down the curvy and twisty roads of the preserved historic town of Chora taking in the whitewashed cube-like homes that contrasted with the bright blue-painted doors and shutters.
Theo leads the way to the edge of town where the tour bus meets us.As we make our way to the Mykonos Winery, Theo fills us in with information.
"Greek wine is produced with varieties of traditional Aegean Seagrapes like Agiannitis, Asyrtiko, Athiri, and Mandalari. However, interestingly, most Mykonos wine never leaves the island's port."
As we pull up to the winery, I see a vast farm of greenery.
"The family-owned farm produces organic wines with no pesticides or herbicides. The native Aegean grapes don't require much water so they find moisture in the sea-breeze and in the soil through the roots." Theo explains as we exit the tour bus and start our walk onto the farm.
"Other working members of the farm include dogs, cats, goats, chickens, turkeys, rabbits, and donkeys who are well known to the Greek culture."I couldn't help but bend down to pet the cute free-roaming farm animals.
"In the garden, they grow seasonal vegetables and traditional Mediterranean herbs. The Mediterranean diet appreciates quality fresh produce, simplicity at its finest, in the sense that less is more." Theo says as we walk the grounds and he points to the vines splayed out everywhere.
"Every September, at the end of the harvest the Vineyard becomes a cultural stomping ground...literally. The traditional way of making wine is barefoot grape stomping as we share well wishes."
Theo introduces us to the members of the family-owned vineyard who only speak Greek so he translates for them to us.
"Kala Krasia! As we say in Greek, which means 'Good Wines!' This harvested wine and food is part of our Mykonos cultural heritage and we are proud to present them to you today."The family brought out small platters of foods harvested from the crops and wildlife such as Louza: cured meats, Kopanisti: spice cheese, and olives. We nibble on Horiatiki: Greek salad and Mostra: large croutons made from barley rusks topped with tomatoes and of course feta cheese.
We sample Paraportiano, a white and red wine, Veggera In Rosé, rosé wine, and afterward a dessert wine, Heliophilos.
I hold the wine glass up to my face as I observe its color, swirl it around and smell its aroma before indulging it's sweet, fresh juices.
As the tour came to an end, we made our way back to the bus to start our journey home.I felt a wave of high surge through my body. Maybe from the amount of alcohol coursing through my veins, or maybe it's the thought of seeing Eros now.
I thought about what Emily said earlier and I realized she's right. I can't deny I do feel something for him. I felt a huge connection towards him since we first met and I didn't know why.
Was she right in thinking he felt something for me too?
I guess only time will tell.
