You walked through the heavily crowded corridor, your final lesson had just finished and it was officially the weekend. You scanned the room like a hawk, looking for a mess of bushy brown tussles, thick black hair that was piled like a mop or any trace of ginger. Sighing, you realised that they had probably gone to the library or something, however you thought that you were forgetting something. You heard the rumble of thunder and you saw the first drops of rain start to pelt at the windows; you knew were not going to be in an ecstatic mood that afternoon. Then you remembered, the second challenge for the goblet of fire was happening today. You decided that you were going to go watch the match, even after seeing at the torrential downpour that was clouding your mood.

You grabbed at a random set of cloaks, deciding that it would be idiotic to think you could stay warm in muggle clothes in this weather. In spirit of the games, you stuck a bit of yellow cloth to the end of your wand to create a sort-of flag to cheer for Cedric.

After a while, you caught up to Harry and Ron.
"Ello ello ello." You said, approaching them.
"Alright Y/n?" Ron said.
"Alright." You grinned.
"Where's Moine?" You frowned.
"We don't know." Said Harry.
You scratched your head but just shrugged it off, she was probably already at the lake, the designated area of the second challenge.

"Let the games begin!"

Dumbledore had just finished his long explanation of the challenge, you weren't really listening, just looking for Hermione, you knew that she wouldn't miss the chance to experience this.
"I wonder if Hermione is okay." Ron piped up randomly.
"Same." You grumbled as Viktor, Fleur and Cedric submerged into the icy depths of the black lake.

Half an hour later, the three of you had given up on talking as the icy cold winds had practically slammed your jaw shut. You couldn't remember what the challenge was about so you asked one of the two:
"Hey what is this challenge about?" You shivered.
"I think they have to save someone from the lake, something about saving the person you'd miss the most." Harry mumbled, huddling around his lit wand for warmth. Your heart twanged and the image of Cedric pulling you out of the water graced your mind, then you remembered that you were still on the watch, waiting for him to return, not in the cold waters.
"That's where Hermione must be then, Viktor must have a really sad life..." you mumbled.
"Shut up." Ron grumbled. You rolled your eyes.
"Maybe you should have asked her to the ball." You deadpanned.
"Hey, don't talk to me about relationships when you decided to go with Cormac Mc effing laggen." Ron growled.
"It was him or Malfoy." You squealed, embarrassed.
"What about Cedric, wasn't he dateless for a little while?" Ron said.
You were about to reply when someone waded out of the water. You saw yellow and black and realised it was Cedric, then you looked down beside him and Cho Chang was clinging on to his arm, looking at him with pure love in her eyes.
"I have to go." You whispered.
You sped down the stairs and made your way over to the school.

Why are you mad? You don't even care about him, remember?! He likes Cho, there is nothing you can do about it, just stop overreacting. His life is none of your business.

You just didn't understand why you had to just see things that you didn't want to when you were trying to get away from them. Was it really that hard to not see your crush in a love embrace with another girl for a couple of months?!

You melodramatically vented to yourself about how much you hated your life, and didn't look where you were going, until you walked straight into someone.
"Oh I'm sorry- ." You started saying until you looked up to see two beady eyes glaring back at you.
"Ew you're such a stalker! Can't you just leave me and Dracy alone to make out? Like excuse me, I'm just trying to snog my boyfriend and you always have to be so jealous, like what is your problem?! You're so annoying oh my Merlin." She said. You just stared at her dumbfounded and then you spotted Draco beside her, trying to avoid eye contact with you.
"Sorry 'Pans', but I'm not exactly trying to steal your boyfriend, just trying to get to my dorms." You said firmly.
"Likely story. Come on now Draco, let's go." She squealed, yanking his arm towards her. He followed, reluctantly it seemed.

You walked on, trying to look where you were going, however you lost focus again and started to wander. Suddenly you turned around a corner and saw slicked back platinum blonde hair. You practically choked on your own tongue. It was Lucius Malfoy and he was talking to professor Snape.
"So, may I ask why my son isn't at the top of the class, Severus?" Malfoy snarled.
"We have another student that is higher then him in the class. It's that simple, Lucius." Snape deadpanned.
"What's their name?" Lucius snarled.
"Y/n, L/n. And she's standing at the end of this corridor." Snape drawled, gesturing at you.
You wanted to dig a hole, crawl into it and did at that moment.
"Ah, miss L/n? Your surname is not familiar to me.. are you perhaps... muggle born?" Malfoy said softly but in a snake-like tone.
"Yes sir." You said through gritted teeth. Lucius snarled and muttered under his breath;
"Filthy mudbloods, one day I'll get my son fully away from them."
You wanted to burst out laughing and punch this man in his silly sausage at the same time. You wanted to boast about your last couple of months with Draco, but you were trying to live till you were at least eighteen so you could legally drink the famous fire whisky at the three broomsticks. Clenching your fists, you walked away, hoping to never see Lucius Malfoy's face again.
