"Is it true that Thor has brought back a Midgardian?" A maid whispers to another as Freyja walks past, but the other maid hushes her as she notices the goddess. Freyja sighs, as she continues walking along the hallways. She had heard that Thor had suddenly left Asgard to go to Midgard, and she had assumed his reason, but she never thought he'd bring her back.

As eager as she was to meet the Midgardian, she was extremely nervous as well now that Odin had arranged her to marry Thor. Freyja could only imagine her distaste towards the goddess. But she hoped they could put aside their unwanted situations, and bond. After all, even though she didn't love Thor in the way Odin wanted her to, she did love him in a brotherly manner and if the Midgardian made him happy, she was happy.

Unfortunately his sudden decision to bring Jane Foster to Asgard, wasn't making things more comfortable for Freyja. Everyone in the palace knew of Thor's love for Jane, but they also knew that he was to marry Freyja, so wherever she walked, people gave her looks of pity. Which annoyed her immensely. She didn't want their pity.

"Freyja." Her thoughts are cut off as a voice booms through the hallways from a balcony, making her turn around to see Thor and by his side is Jane, dressed in Asgardian robes. Freyja smiles happily as she makes her way towards them and she notices Thor say something to Jane, who stiffens.

"Thor, you've been up to no good I see. You must be Jane Foster! I've heard so much of you. You're much more beautiful than what Thor has described you to be." Freyja gushes, making Jane look at her in shock.

"Are you not mad at me? You're supposed to be marrying him." Jane says, making Freyja wave her off. Jane is much smaller than Freyja, mainly due the fact that Asgardians are naturally much taller than Midgardian.

"Oh, please. I may have to marry him, but it's against my will." Freyja says with an amused smile, hiding her sadness behind the smile. "Unfortunately the Prince I do wanna marry is in a dungeon."

"Loki? You want to marry Loki? Have you not heard of what he has done in-" Jane starts in bewilderment, but Thor cuts her off.

"Before all that, Loki and Freyja were meant to be getting married. The two were very much in love and I believe they still are, but circumstances forced them apart." Thor explains, making Jane soften, regretting her sudden outburst.

"I'm sorry. It must be hard on you." Jane gives her a sympathetic smile, causing Freyja to smile in appreciation.

"Now as much as I am happy to have you here, Jane. Thor have you lost your mind bringing her here. Your father will have your head." Freyja breaths out, her eyes widening in slight fear.

"He knows already. But I needed to bring her here, Freyja. She has the Aether in her." Thor says, making Freyja raise her eyebrows questioningly.

"You mean the weapon of the dark elves in the stories your mother you used tell you and Loki as children. Loki has told them to me, I'm well aware it's just a tale. Your jokes aren't funny anymore." Freyja says teasingly, but as she sees the seriousness in their faces, her eyes widen. "Oh my. You're not joking. How is this possible?"

"We don't know. But this may not turn out well. Will you keep Jane company, while I talk to father?" Thor asks, making Freyja nod in acceptance. "Thank you, I believe mother will join you two soon."

"Yes. Hopefully Odin will show some mercy to Jane." Freyja smiles softly as he leaves the two women alone. Freyja turns to look at Jane with a grin. "Come on, let me show you around the garden as we wait for Frigga."

"So, what exactly are you good at? I mean Thor is god of Thunder, Loki is god of mischief and I've heard that Sif is goddess of war. What are you the goddess of?" Jane asks, making Freyja chuckle at her curiosity.

"Of love. Now you probably wonder what my abilities are... I can feel, as well as control the emotions of people, I can read their minds and I have the ability to manipulate anyone into falling in love with me." Freyja explains, making Jane look at her in awe.

"That's so cool. But wait, why don't you use your powers on Loki to make him a better person?" Jane asks, making Freyja look up at the sky with a soft smile.

"May I tell you a story?" Freyja asks, making Jane nod in interest. "Two hundred years ago, Loki and I stood in this exact spot. We had known each other for a hundred years already and we had fallen madly in love with each other. Just like we are now, back then him and I were enjoying a walk. We used to love pulling harmless tricks on his brother and this time I had used my ability to control emotions on Thor."

"How did that turn out?" Jane asks in amusement, causing Freyja to chuckle and shake her head.

"A story for another time. As we kept walking, he turned to look at me and he told me that no matter how many men I made to fall in love with me, none of them would love me the way he did." Freyja smiles fondly at the memory, making Jane look at her in awe. "We then promised to never use our powers on each other as a sign that our love will forever be real."
