Aden was done, he finally knew what he had to do, but he would not be able to do it alone. Aden wanted to call out for the girl, but he realized that he didn't know her name. For some reason he was feeling very hungry and saw that there had been food laid out for him. He scoffed it down and felt as if he could have eaten double the amount. There was still no one. He decided to go back into the mind machine and see if he could figure out the girl's name. After few attempts he got it.
"Selena!" he shouted.
She came charging in before he could scream again.
Staring at him with her big beautiful eyes, she wondered why he had called her in such a distressed fashion.
"Were you standing outside of the door?" Aden laughed.
"No, actually I was climbing up the stairs and thought someone had found you. Why you making such a racquet?"
"I am ready and we need to see my friends."
He hadn't noticed until now how radiant she was. She had golden, curly hair, down to her waist, but it was pinned back on both sides of her face. Her face was fair with two pale cheeks and her eyes were piercing blue like the ocean. Her robe caressed her body revealing a very womanly waist and bust, although she was slim and elegant. Her eyes smiled as she spoke and her lips reminded him of cherries.
"Aden, have you managed?"
"I have an idea, it's not perfectly formed, but it will have to do!"
"When you are ready, I want you to meet everyone."
"Before we do anything else, I would really appreciate it if you could let my friends in."
"Aden, you know I cannot do that, but I can take you to them."
He followed her swiftly out the door and down the spiral staircase, and through the little hidden door.
Ilmatar and Anemone were sitting on a blanket, with many brightly coloured cushions. There was a small tent erected up for them.
When they saw Aden, they jumped up with excitement and came running towards him. Anemone wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him so intently that it almost blew him over.
"Wow, what was that for?"
"I've missed you."
Ilmatar laughed, "She was ready to kill for you."
"Well, I am sure Aden would have done the same for me! I am not ashamed."
"What?" Aden was perplexed.
Ilmatar tried to explain while holding back his laughter, "We kept receiving food and water amongst other things, during the night.
One night Anemone decided that she had enough of all this sneaky business and was going to find out what was going on. Initially, we always fell asleep while trying to find out who was bringing us these things, but once we had caught up on our sleep we were able to just pretend sleeping and try catching them in the act. That is when your beloved pulled out a knife to Selena's throat. The rest is history, Selena told us everything."
"What do you mean by catch up on sleep, and how many Moonicles are we talking about here? I have been gone one Moonicle, maybe two at best?" Aden seemed confused.
"Try five Moonicles and you'd be closer to the truth." Anemone looked at him intently.
"I can't believe it."
"On top of it all I didn't really believe a word they told us about you, we thought they were holding you prisoner and keeping us going until they figured out what to do with us."
Anemone was displaying bitter jealousy in her expression as she looked at Selena, for Selena was truly beautiful and Anemone felt insecure around her. Perhaps it was also due to the fact that now she had finally seen Aden standing next to Selena and seeing that there was something mysteriously symmetrical about them, having had so much in common with one another.
"I had to stay and get an action plan sorted out." Aden reassured her.
Anemone tried to hide her jealousy, "I didn't say that you shouldn't have! I would have just appreciated you coming back to warn us or at least tell us about your situation."
"It seems you are quite the warrior when you are on the defence." Aden chuckled.
Anemone blushed and jumped up into his arms again. Their warm bodies tightly wrapping against each other. Ilmatar looked at Selena apologetically.
"Are they always like this?" Selena asked.
"No. They do say absence makes the heart grow fonder." Ilmatar laughed.
"Yes, it does actually." Selena looked longingly.
Ilmatar studied Selena's eyes and saw a profound sadness within them.
"How long have you been here?" Ilmatar asked.
"Seems like forever. It feels like all my life." Selena replied.
"Gather up everyone, we need to discuss the plan."
Aden began telling the others about Edan being on his way, and the cruel intentions of the Mohan clan.
He mentioned that he saw Edan being thrown off of the mountain side for not being able to get across the ravine. Aden felt it was his responsibility to protect Edan before carrying on with his quest. Ilmatar, Anemone and Selena agreed. Selena said she would try and gather the others to help. They would unfortunately have to act during the day as the Mohan would soon make their presence known. Had Aden not been left to grow up outside of the walls of Kirjuri, then there would be no way for the Mohan to abuse his powers for their own benefit. Thankfully Aden could get support from the SoverI, as all of the remaining monks of Kirjuri had been on a 30 moonicle pilgrimage down to the ravine below. The SoverI were all united as one and would stand together to fight the coming evil.
