"I can't come with you." She lets go of my hands.

"But why?? You're the only one who hasn't hurt me, here. You seem nice." Just then I hear someone's footsteps. I look over and notice my dad.

"Hide." I whisper, and she runs.

"Akia, I need to talk to you." Dad says, walking over to me. Allison hides in the laundry. Gotta keep that away from him, otherwise dad'll be mad.

"I have nothing to say to you."

"But, I do. Surgeon." He grabs my shoulder. I flinch, and move my shoulder from under his hand. I look at his eyes, filled with concern and sadness. I've never seen him this way before. "Why are you mad at me? I thought you wanted your mommy back."

"She's not my mother. She's Sydney. Char's my mother; and she's your wife. What your doing with Sydney is wrong." He grabs my arm. Then swings his arm. Then hits me. I look at him, I can tell he regrets it, but I run away, crying. He's never hit me before. Of course I've also never called him out on anything. I never needed to. Its Sydney's fault. We were fine when Char was here. Then when Sydney came, everything spiraled out of control. ITS ALL HER FAULT. She must go.

I go grab all my clothes from my room, and dad follows me.

"What-what are you doing."

"You don't care, all you care about it Sydney." I say, and pushed him out of my way. I can't believe I LOVED this person. What made me think he loved me?

"I got you another patient."

"Cool."

"She's in the shed. In case you're not actually gonna leave."

"I don't know if I am, or if I'm not. I'm looking for my mom."

"Syd-" I turn around. He can tell that I'm angry, and he's scared. I wonder why he's scared of me.

"Sydney's not my mom." Then I drop my clothes, and grab my equipment. I run inside, and notice Sydney on the couch. She's watching T.V.

"Hey Syd, wanna play tag?"
