Home is a feeling of being safe, happy, and free. Well, to me that's a home. Surely it's not being trapped, suffocated and excluded like I felt. The mere fact that my parents were not together anymore didn't help out. And the house was quiet I could hear a needle if dropped.
I jumped a little in my seat on hearing footsteps coming closer to the living room. I tapped my fingers nervously on my laps as I waited. I always got this nervous when talking to my dad that it was normal these days. Our relationship had gone downhill the day I refused to do medicine after highschool, well I had just graduated and he ambushed me the dictation which I refused plainly opting to take a gap year. Since then it's silent treatment and looking at me as if am a failure.
I watched the handsome chubby tall dark forty year old man clad in khakis and a white dress shirt with brown clarks made his way into the morden large brown living room on phone as usual. He settled himself into the brown armchair a little after the dining table facing me .He concluded his talk giving me attention.
"Daisy says you want to talk to me."he starts
"Yeah I wanted permission to work this holiday."I requested gibberishly.
"No your not...are you deaf."he retorted and I flinched. He had reacted like I expected him to. Tears pricked the corners of my eyes.
"Get to your room and study, your tutors will start on Monday , the flowers need attention too since you lack what to do. You have enough to do before college in the fall."
There was no use arguing back ,my dad unfortunately was a man of his word. So I beelined for the door as he received another of his many business calls .
I walked through the Halls of the house to my room as I glanced around. I could see Daisy my father's latest girlfriend breastfeeding her baby as she watched TV with my cousins and since I wasn't close to any of them I felt alone.
All I wanted was to make my own money, be happy and free in brief make my own home if my family couldn't give me one. So, I was going to run away from home.
