"Prim. You heard my phone call?"he asked in a quiet voice. I nodded since there was no point in lying to him. He sighed.
"What exactly did you hear?"he asked.
"That you love a certain Jonah. Why are you not introducing us?"I asked innocently. He sighed again as his eyes closed a bit.
"You don't mind that am gay?"he asked. I shrugged.
"No I don't, there is nothing wrong with that. I won't see you any different."and I meant it. I wasn't lesbian myself but I had no problem with any sexuality. I mean, it's a free world. He smiled at me warmly which I returned and he hugged me tightly.
"That means alot me, I hope the others think the same." I let him go in question.
"They don't know?"I asked and he nodded. What?I thought they were life and death friends.
"I tried to tell them but I feared, what if they were homophobic. So I kept to myself."I nodded in understanding. Then with a 'we shall talk later' we went back inside."So are you gonna tell me whatever has been up with you lately, talk to me Essy, was he the guy you were always running to in disguise of meeting your professor?" I was in Essy's room and we were sitting in his living room eating popcorn, these guys loved popcorn. I don't know how many bowls I had eaten in only the two months I had known them. I wanted Essy to talk to me about his stuff because I knew how it felt having no one to talk to, no one to understand and the world going on literally leaving you to dwell in your sorrow anyway that was a topic for later.
Essy smiled briefly and staring into space he started blubbering, his eyes literally shining, I could see the love he felt for this 'Jonah'.
"I have been lying about the professor thing, it just seemed like the most casual lie you guys could buy so I always excused myself with that to meet him so we could hang out. And we have been in a relationship for a month now and I feel super excited just thinking about it."he beamed.
"Yeah, your literally glowing."I commented and he laughed heartily.
"So who is Jonah?"I asked smiling back. He shrugged.
"That's a topic for another day don't you think."he said briefly.
"How did you know you were gay?"I asked.
"I have always admired footballers instead of cheerleaders but I experimented in senior year of high school."he explained.
"I take it your experiment showed good results?"I smiled as he nodded."so who else knows.?"
"My mom." What? I thought she was too busy for family. As if he heard my thoughts he added.
"I always hangout at the factory with her or she took me with her on business trips. She is a sweet lady so don't get corrupted by her seriousness. So she basically knows me in and out even though a busy woman. You know it has always been just the two of us, dad died when I was little."he explained.
"I am sorry to hear that."I sympathized.
"It's okay, it hurts less each year that goes.am good."he replied. I nodded sympathetically then he stood up suddenly and tagged me up as well.
"Come let me take you around the house."he said excitedly so I just followed.By the time we had finished going around the house, I was physically fatigued. Who builds a house on acres? Of course, billionaires.
"Have you ever lacked money?I asked Essy.
"Yeah, I have."he laughed. I shook my head.
"I am sure our definitions of broke are different."then we burst out laughing but it was true."I am gonna pick you up at six."said Carl as he pulled over the range Rover which by the way I had confirmed was his mom's but she practically let them use it even more than her as she preferred to be dropped off by their dad. How sweet. So Carl had brought me to work on Monday, I actually hadn't seen him even the day before as he was tight at work (they had a serious accident at the beach, he had said) and I was busy hanging out with Essy who had been spoiling me with goodies on a brief tour around the city which we had taken together.
"No your not, Carl your exams are in a week's time and you need the good marks."I scolded.
"But I wanted to hang out with you."he whined.
"Don't be such a baby, we will still see each other."But you haven't yet asked me to be your girlfriend. I didn't say that out loud but it was killing me, was he rethinking our relationship?I hoped not.
"Okay , how about you come over and help me read."he suggested.
"That will mean going to bed late yet I have to work tomorrow."I huffed.
"But you don't need to work, my salary as a bay watcher is pretty good."I rolled my eyes. What does he mean I can't work.
"What do you mean by that, we are not even girlfriend and boyfriend."I sneered.
"Then would you be my girlfriend?" What? He had finally asked. Thought he would never ask. My answer was ready ages ago.
"Yes, boyfriend. But still I want to be an independent woman."I said smiling. He nodded.
"Whatever you want, love."he replied drawing me to him in a brief kiss then let me go.
"Okay then see you when you can't avoid me."he mumbled as I climbed down from the car and with a brief wave he left.
I was falling in love with him. I could feel it, it was no longer just a crush. I was really hoping we would spend a very long time together. With gentle strides I made it inside Landon sweets but the sound of my name had me turning around and stopped in my trucks.Unmistakably, it was Loy, one of my brother's friends.
