A/N: Bit sort but this is mostly fluff, a little angst if you squint.

"Hey."

Your voice pulled Heather from her thoughts as she tore her eyes from the window of your car and looked over at you. You had the warmest smile on your face that completely warmed her heart.

"We're here." Your tone was soft as you looked out the windshield and up at the sky. Not even two seconds later you got out of the car, followed closely by the yellow-clad girl. Walking over to the trunk you opened it before pulling out the small cooler and the blanket you planned on laying on.

"I'm sorry we missed the sunset." Heather apologized softly as you closed the trunk. With a chuckle, you shook your head and waved her off. "It's fine blondie, besides this will be way better," You started walking away from the car and up to a hill. "Come on." You urged gently over your shoulder.

The two of you soon made it to the top of the hill, Heather now holding a flashlight because she was afraid of tripping or stepping on something. You had her hold it up while you positioned the blanket before plowing yourself down on it. You looked up at her with a soft smile before wordlessly patting the spot next to you.

Heather gingerly planted herself next to you. "Sandwich?" You asked as you reached over into the cooler causing her to give a small 'no'. "A coke though?" You nodded and handed her the desired drink before grabbing one of your own and closing the cooler.

"So...what exactly are we supposed to be doing here?" Heather asked still holding the lit flashlight. The smile on your face widened a bit as you gently pulled the flashlight from her hands. Turning off the light you were momentarily plunged into darkness causing the blonde beside you to give you an odd look, not that you could see it. Soon your eyes adjusted to the darkness as the sky became lit by a new source.

Now being able to see your girlfriend you looked over at her with a smirk and pointed up. Her eyes slowly trailed to the sky before widening in awe; a small gasp escaping her.

Above you were countless stars all shining bright in the sky. You let out a soft gleeful laugh at her reaction before looking up to the sky yourself.

"Beautiful isn't it?" A hum escaped Heather indicating that she agreed. "Really makes you think about just how small we truly are." She said in a quiet voice. The implication of her words didn't fall short on your ears. You glanced over at her before taking a deep breath.

"Well...while the stars are larger than we can ever imagine. We still have one thing on them." Heather's head turned to you, a curious look on her face. "What's that?"

"They're alone."

You looked at her out of the corner of your eye. You could already see her about to interject with some form of self-deprecation, so you continued.

"They're so large and powerful, shining bright and illuminating the emptiness around them. They are always in the spotlight, quite literally the stars of their own show." Heather's eyebrows drew together.

"Are you-"

"The stars are mighty yes," You cut her off gently. "But they will never know what it's like to have another star by their side. They will never know companionship. They are worlds and worlds away from each other. Unlike us, they will never know love." With the utterance of your last few words, you wrapped your arm around Heather and pulled her to your side before pressing a kiss to her forehead.

She snuggled up to you and rested her head on your shoulder as she looked back up at the sky. "You were talking about Chandler, right?" She asked after a few minutes.

You chuckled softly. "Yes, yes I was. While Chandler is the star of her show, she will never know what it's like to not be alone. So don't let anything she says get to you Mac, because unlike Chandler, we will always have each other."
