Third Person POV

"Remind me again why we have to do this?" Kai whined, attempting to pick up his heavy backpack.

"You know why; It's to help bond with him. Lloyd thought it'd help encourage him to stay. So suck it up, for Lloyd's sake, okay?" Nya grunted as she lifted it effortlessly.

Kai groaned and leaned against the wall, his arms crossed and his face twisted into an angry grimace.

It was all Lloyd's idea. He wanted his friends to become more accustomed to his father being there, so he arranged for each of the ninja to spend time with him. Today was Kai's turn; and he had no idea as to why he took Lloyd up on his idea of camping with him.

Kai was never an outdoor person, not in the slightest. The bugs, the muggy air, the tent, the bag that you sleep in that hardly separates you from laying in the dirt, all of it was a horrible idea! And, to top it all off, he agreed to participate in this activity with a four-armed maniac. This should go well. It has to, right?

Heavy breathing snapped Kai out of his inner tantrum, looking up to see Garmadon towering over him. His eyes were warm, but still managed to have a threatening aura hanging onto them. His lips were just barely curled into a smile. His eyebrows were- Oh! Stop studying his face and get on with it, Kai!

"Are you ready to leave yet?" Garmadon asked in his usual low tone.

Kai swallowed a lump in his throat and nodded as he picked up his backpack. He didn't think that he overpacked until he tried to sling it over one shoulder. Instantly, he was weighed down and toppled over. A tinge of red rushed to his cheeks; this was already embarrassing enough.

"Need help with that?"

Kai's voice cracked as he grumbled, "No. I got it." He strained to pick it back up. Suddenly, it became light as a feather. Kai made a silent gasp, looking up to see Garmadon picking it up for him. He frowned, trying to avoid eye contact.

"What? I thought you needed help," Garmadon said with an innocent smile.

"Let's just go already," Kai mumbled, staggering away.

"Bye! I'll see you tomorrow!" Nya waved as the two departed.

Kai harrumphed as he followed closely behind Garmadon into the woods. Tomorrow sounded like an eternity away in this instance. Looking over his shoulder at the pouting ninja, Garmadon snickered, "Do you always act this defiant?"

Kai didn't answer; he just stared at the ground with his hands stuffed in his pockets. Garmadon silently chuckled as he turned his head back to navigate.

The two walked for an hour, passing by countless trees on their way. Kai continued to stay in his sour mood, until he suddenly snapped his head up to check his surroundings; he had been staring at the ground for so long that he forgot to check. Each direction he looked in, there were trees, and nothing but trees, for miles. Oh no. Where were they?!

"Uhhh, Garmadon? You are following the map, right?" Kai asked with a panicky tone as he tapped the warlord's shoulder.

Garmadon turned around and caught Kai's frightened features at full force. He didn't help matters when he calmy replied, "What map?"

"What! You didn't bring the map?!" Kai screamed, yanking at his hair. "We're lost now and it's all your fault!"

"Calm down. It's going to be fine, okay? I know where I'm going."

"And where is that?!"

"Just trust me."

Kai sighed heavily, looking up at the darkening sky. It's going to be night soon, He thought. "Fine. But we better hurry and find a place to set up camp before it gets too dark," He groaned.
