Third Person POV
Lloyd sharply woke up, gasping for breath. As he attempted to regain his usual composure, he tried to recall the technique his father had taught him.
"Five things I can see..." He muttered to himself, hugging his knees to his chest. "Five things.....let's see..."
He looked down at the blankets wrapped around his feet.
"Blanket. That's one."
Darting his eyes across the room, he stopped at the pictures on his wall, the candy wrappers on his dresser, the green jacket hanging from a peg on his door, and the alarm clock on his bedside table.
Lloyd sighed, rubbing his face. Suddenly, he stopped, dropping his hands to glance back at the clock.
"I'm late!" He exclaimed, springing out of bed to change his clothes.
After dragging a comb through his nappy hair, he opened the door only to be greeted by the unamused face of his uncle.
"Ah! Uh, good morning, Uncle Wu-."
Wu put up a hand, making Lloyd stop stuttering. "Save your excuse for your father," He chuckled. "He's waiting for you in the dojo."
Lloyd nodded, taking off down the hall to make his way there.
Once he got there, he mentally prepared himself for the regular speech he was in for.
He opened the door, cringing as the creak echoed throughout the building. He peeked in, noticing how his father barely reacted.
"Maybe if I just sneak around him..." He thought, tip-toeing inside, shutting the door behind himself.
"Where do you think you're going?" A voice rang out, making Lloyd flinch and freeze where he stood. Turning his head, he met the raised eyebrow of his father's seemingly playful scowl.
"Just...here...!" Lloyd rubbed the back of his neck, laughing awkwardly.
Garmadon patted the floor beside him, motioning for Lloyd to take a seat. Lloyd quickly shuffled his feet across the floor, sitting cross-legged beside his father.
"This is the fourth time you've been late this week," Garmadon mused. "What's going on?"
Lloyd shrugged it off, casually saying, "I was up late reading comics. I guess I just slept in."
As Lloyd focused on meditating, he felt a presence getting closer to his face. He opened his eyes to see Garmadon leaning closer, eyeballing him as if he could see through him.
"What's wrong?" Lloyd finally asked.
"I feel like there's something you're keeping from me," Garmadon replied, returning to his regular position. "You do know you can tell me anything, right?"
"Seriously, Father, it's fine. I just stayed up too late for the past few nights."
With that, Garmadon decided to drop it to avoid pestering Lloyd about it too much.

Later that night, Lloyd tossed and turned in bed. He felt cold, yet he was burning up. He was shaking like a leaf on a tree in the wind, getting tangled in his bedsheets with each move he made.
He could see the Overlord, hear his gravelly voice, feel the eyes of his family and friends on him.
"Let...my...friends...go!" He cried.
The Overlord snorted. "'Go' where, doomed ninja?"
He could overhear his friends yelling his name from the ground, trying to get him to stop.
The pressure on his arms increased as he activated his powers, charging them into the Overlord. As soon as he did, his entire body shook harder as tears began to fall down his cheeks.
No matter how much the Overlord resisted his attack, he wouldn't give up. Even if it meant he'd sacrifice himself for his family, and all of Ninjago, he wouldn't-.
"Lloyd! Wake up!"
As Garmadon shook him by the shoulders, Lloyd's eyes snapped open.
"What...? I...but, he was...." Lloyd panted, resting on his hands, making sure of his surroundings. He was in his room, waking up in terror, much as he had for the past few days.
Garmadon placed a hand on Lloyd's cheek, soothingly whispering, "It's okay, Lloyd. It was just a dream."
Lloyd drew his hands to his chest, crying softly, "No. It...it wasn't."
Garmadon wrapped his arms around the sobbing boy, pulling him close to his chest.
"Shh, I know. It's alright," Garmadon muttered, pressing his mouth to Lloyd's forehead.
Lloyd, on the other hand, was absolutely distraught.
In between gaspy hiccups, he sobbed, "Don't let go. Please. I'm scared. Please...don't let go."
After a few minutes of hugging him, Garmadon had managed to calm him down just a little bit.
"There, there," Garmadon cooed, carding his hands through Lloyd's hair. "Would you like me to stay with you tonight?"
Lloyd sniffled and nodded. With that, Garmadon laid back against the pillow, holding Lloyd against his chest, rubbing his hand up and down the small of his back.
"Good night, Lloyd."
