*** Kinsey's POV ***

I was sitting at home in nothing but an oversized t-shirt waiting for Lex to return and find me ready for him. I had spent all day thinking about how good his hands and mouth felt on me. And thankfully no more dizzy spells so I was ready.

My phone rang a little before seven and I was really hoping to hear his masculine voice on the other end. I answered with a breathy greeting. "Hello?"

"Are you nuts? Do you have a death sentence because..." I hold the phone away from my ear as Dylan rips into me for not monitoring my health more closely. There's only one way he knows.

"He ran and told you?" I ask, feeling instantly betrayed by Lex.

"He was fucking worried about you and he doesn't even know the half of what it was like to see you in that clinic." Dylan replies in a strained voice.

"It's my life, Dylan. I take care of myself and I know if something feels off. I'm fine and the blood tests are going to show that." I say stubbornly.

"God, you're such a pain in the ass!" He fires off.

"The feeling is mutual. You go ahead and tell Lex he can stay at yours tonight. I don't need a rat in my life." I hang up and toss my phone on the end of the bed. It slides off.

Fuck him. I'm pissed at Lex for opening his mouth to my brother. And I'm mad at myself for letting him see me as weak and in need of his or my brother's concern. I need to blow off some steam and I know just where to go.

I get dressed and ready to head out. As I'm leaving Lex shows up. Either he thought he was going to win me over or Dylan didn't give him the memo. I hate the fight we have and flee the scene quickly.

I park along Elmhurst and take a deep breath. I know it's not healthy to turn to vices as a coping mechanism, but it's better than denying myself what I need, which was the chosen method for too many years.

It's a Saturday night so the bar is much busier than I'm used to seeing it. I walk up to the bar and squeeze in next to a couple. I don't see who I'm looking for. Damn it. Just my luck that he's not working tonight. I push back from the bar and turn to head out. I run right into someone.

"Red." It's him, and damn he looks good. His blonde hair falls perfectly across his forehead and his brown eyes soften as he takes me in.

"Hi." I reply coyly.

"I almost forgot what you looked like, but damn, doll. Thanks for the refresher course." His eyes run down my body and he bites his lip taking in the amount of exposed skin I have left on display.

Usually I get a thrill watching a man I intend to sleep with lusting after me, but I think I'm still in a mood from earlier. Time to switch tactics. "Are you on the clock?"

"No I'm..." He starts, but I cut him off by
wrapping my arms around his neck and pressing my body into him. He wastes no time twisting his arms around me and burying his head in the crook of my neck. He whispers into my hair. "You had me thinking you only existed in my dreams."

"Are you up to making those dreams come true again tonight?" I lean back and ask seductively.

"Actually..." He surprises me, but then I see a gorgeous blonde woman spot him. She rolls her eyes and starts to stomp over. I start to disentangle myself from him, embarrassed that I just assumed he would be available to me again.

"I'm sorry. I just assumed..." I start to backtrack.

"Wait, Kinsey." He catches my flailing arms as I try to make my getaway, stopping me in my tracks. "She's my sister."
