*** Kinsey's POV ***
As much as I would like to segway into more sex, I know I need to eat and Lex follows my lead on this one. After stuffing ourselves with an overwhelming amount of pad thai and other delights, we need some time to digest.
We lounge in the living room as I tell him about the grand romantic gesture with Alan for Sasha. He listens and laughs.
"Only you could go from being the source of another woman's insecurities to being her champion and savior." He chuckles, his hands moving up and down my legs massaging lightly. The poor guy is trying to be comfortable but he looks all bunched up on my loveseat.
"If you're going to be spending time over here, I'm going to need to invest in some bigger furniture." I observe.
"Well the plan is for me to find someplace to live that isn't your brother's guest room." Lex replies.
"Oh, speaking of my brother, did you know we bought him the same tickets for his birthday?" I ask.
"I was too caught up in you head-butting service trays to focus much on what happened at that party." He teases.
I give his arm a playful flick and continue. "And did you know it's right on top of Angelina's due date? She'll probably go early, but then I doubt she'll be pleased with him scuttling off when they have a newborn."
"Shit I guess you can tell I'm not a parent. I wasn't thinking about any of that." He says.
"Me neither." I admit. "He suggested that I go with you..."
Lex shifts and looks up at me. "And how do you feel about that?"
"Well I'm not thrilled about the rugby..." But the thought of traveling someplace with him doesn't suck.
"Yeah, that is kind of the focal point of the trip, isn't it?" He says seemingly a bit disappointed himself.
"I mean what else could I possibly do in Vegas?" I reply sarcastically.
"Well if I'm there with you I could think of at least one thing you could do." He teases. I laugh as his hand creeps a little further up my leg.
"I'm still so full." I stick out my belly and rub it. His hand comes up and joins mine interlocking our fingers. "You know I have some time on my hands. I can check out some apartments for you to help get you settled."
"How do you know what I like?" He asks, intrigued by the idea.
"You like me, don't you? Plus that was basically my job, right? Learning what clients wanted and then translating that into solutions. Plus I would just be screening for you." I sell him on the idea.
His smile is one of amusement. "I do like you. Very much."
"Okay."
"Okay." He agrees. I unlink our hands and roll over to reach my phone on the floor next to the couch. I feel his hands graze against my ass and I look back over my shoulder at him. "What? You can't just put it out there and expect me not to do anything."
I smirk and roll back over. "Alright, give it to me."
"Oh I'm going to give it to you alright, but I don't think that's what you mean right now." He says with cockiness.
I specify. "Give me a list of apartment features you want. I'll find you someplace to move into by the end of the day tomorrow."
He thinks for a bit and starts listing features. I ask him a few follow-ups to which he responds.
