*** Kinsey's POV ***
My heart is pounding out of my chest. Lex just told me he's falling in love with me. I need to respond, but I can't seem to gather the right words so instead I tilt my head and claim his lips with mine. I am still on his lap and as our kiss deepens and lingers, I feel his excitement literally growing beneath me.
I start to move my lips, whisper soft across his face to his ear. "I think I've already fallen."
"Let's take this someplace where not everyone has a key, shall we?" He recommends. I pop up and help him up off the floor. "Ouch, you are definitely way more limber than I am."
I give him a sly look. "I know some activities we can do to loosen you up."
He growls and starts patting my ass to get me to move. We come out of the dance studio and run right into Malik, Fiona, and Lucas talking in hushed tones.
"There you are!" Fiona exclaims.
I look at her strangely. "Fiona, is that my suitcase?"
"Yes, I was making sure you couldn't hop on a plane and leave." She answers sheepishly.
"You had to come here and make a scene, didn't you?" Lucas mutters. He and Lex are staring daggers at one another. Fiona waps him in the gut. He groans.
"Knock it off. We're going to get together for brunch tomorrow and figure out how to play nicely so we can all enjoy the tropical destination we're in instead of carrying around grudges from home." Fiona instructs us.
Lex gives her a skeptical look. "If you think I'm going to buddy up to the guy who had a goal to steal my girlfriend, not just anyone's girlfriend, but specifically MY girlfriend, then you are sorely mistaken, lady."
Now it's my turn to swat Lex.
"Tomorrow. Everyone retreat to their corners until then." Malik motions for Lucas and Fiona to start walking.
Fiona rolls her eyes at Malik and reaches for me, pulling me into a hug. "You really know how to keep things interesting, Kins."
"Drama just seems to find it's way to me like a magnet." I defend myself.
We laugh. She looks Lex over and smiles at me with a playful tone in her voice. "Have a great night catching up."
I shoo her. "Get out of here, will ya?" She kisses Malik's cheek as she moves past him and wraps herself around Lucas's arm. He gives me a half-hearted smile, which I return before he places his focus on Fiona.
"Is there any point in going back to that wedding? Can y'all salvage your reputations?" Lucas asks.
"Huh, there's a possibility." Malik contemplates.
"WE are not going." I decline. Lex squeezes my hand in agreement.
Fiona nods. "Malik, we could pull out that number from St. Lucia's from last year."
Malik nods and grins. "Let's do it."
We all head out, Lex and I heading to his room. I stop off at mine to repack my suitcase and move most of my belongings to his room.
I shake my head. "I can't believe she stole my suitcase."
"Did you consider going back home?" Lex inquires.
"For like a minute." I admit.
"Then I'd say she knows you pretty damn well." He comments.
Once in Lex's room, he sets my suitcase down on the dresser. I step up behind him and run my hands along the expanse of his back, up to his shoulders, and up the back of his neck to the nape. He leans on his arms, delighting in my touch.
