Roommates!

Chapter 5: roommates!

"You all get to go home tomorrow!" A girl named Aoi Asahina yelled loudly to get all our attentions.
"Home?" I questioned
"Home!!!" She screamed yet again.
"What if we don't want to, because I don't want to." I stated as if I was proud of this fact, I wasn't.
"Why don't you wanna go home?" Shuichi questioned.
"He's probably an embarrassment to his whole family!" Miu laughed loudly.
"You can come stay with Gonta in the woods Kokichi!" Gonta offered. It it was nice of him to offer but, I'd rather live on city streets than in the woods.

Gonta went to whisper something to Shuichi which was super sketchy. Shuichi then stood up tall as if he had an idea.
"That's a great idea Gonta! Why don't you come stay with me and my family Kokichi?" Shuichi asked.
"Wha-what? Stay with you?" I stuttered again.
"Awe I wanna stay with you Shuichi!" Kaede beamed as she clung to Shuichi's arm tightly.
"Well I didn't invite you silly!" Shuichi said kindly, although I don't think Kaede took it as a kind remark.
"Why would you want "that" in your house Shuichi?" Kaito questioned.
"I think Kokichi and I are friends enough yo be roommates!" Shuichi replied.

Friends? He thought we were friends? That was a nice thought. I'd love for him to think of me as a friend- wait... SHUICHI SAIHARA THINKS OF ME AS A FRIEND! I never thought I'd be able to say that!

"I mean Kaito is right, why would you want me at your house?"
"Well because you have nowhere else to go and I think we could become even better friends!" I started blushing so hard, like you haven't seen blush this bad before.
"M-me? You know who you're talking to right?" As I said that Gonta pushed me towards Shuichi almost to the point of falling on top of him.

"Yes, I'm aware of who I'm inviting over. We can be roommates!" Shuichi exclaimed. A couple of people around us stood in shock, surprised Shuichi would even offer something like this. I was surprised too. Like seriously... me!?

"Wh- uhh.. I mean..."
"Ha the lying piece of shit is blushing so much you can't even see his face!" Miu commented far too loudly. After she said that I covered my face with my hands. If Miu makes too many comments like that she's going to make my crush so painfully obvious.

"Gonta think that means yes!" Gonta chimed in.
"Ok then it's settled! You'll come live with me! I have bunk beds in my room because I like sleeping on top so then we don't have to share a bed!" Shuichi sounded so proud of himself. Like he was some kind of saint for saving me from living on the streets. Everyone started to walk away while whispering to themselves.

I'm not too sure what happened but I do know that Aoi never got to finish talking. I went to bed once I could stop standing still with my hands over my face and snuggled with a blanket on top of me. For some reason I had a good feeling about tomorrow.

The morning took forever to come. I don't sleep well, I tend to wake up a lot during the night just to fall back asleep and repeat. Soon after I got up Shuichi came pounding on my door. When I got to the door Shuichi almost fell in as I opened it. He sure has a lot of energy for an emo. I didn't have to pack anything, I just had to bring that lousy phone with me. I must've woke up pretty late as some people were already gone like Himiko, Angie, Korekiyo, Rantaro, and Tsumugi. Shuichi had his things packed and ready to go. He said his parents said it was ok to have me stay with them and that they were on their way to get us.

Part of me wanted his parents to say no so I could avoid telling Shuichi how I feel for the rest of my life. I obviously wouldn't tell him the minute I stepped into his house but I would have to eventually if I'm living with him right? Maybe I can just avoid it till it so painfully obvious that he figures it out himself. Though Shuichi is kinda dumb... maybe he'll never figure it out.
