Chapter 13: spread like wildfire

Miu's POV

I'm terrified of Kokichi finding me. I had to tell someone, I like Kaede, I can't stand her and see her get more and more hurt as Shuichi drifts farther from her. I wish... I was hers. I like Kaede a lot but she only pays attention to Shuichi. That's why I decided to look into him. The second I heard Kokichi jump to defend Shuichi I knew SOMETHING had to be going on. That's when I decided to put my camera on Kokichi. I didn't need to tell anyone else besides Kaede about them dating. I planned to comfort Kaede and tell her that we shouldn't tell anyone else. I heard some feet run up behind me and I got pushed to the floor. The child that attacked me was soon pulled off and he started screaming. It's obvious who it was...

"You better not tell anyone else!" I looked up to see Kokichi yelling loudly and Gonta holding him up high.
"Get that gremlin away from me!" I yelled.
"Gremlin? Gremlin! Oh you're gonna get it! Gonta put me down!" Kokichi screamed.
"Gonta afraid he cannot do that."
I got up and ran away from them. I probably could've told Kaede without Kokichi around but my genius brain cells only go so far! Tenko came out of nowhere and I accidentally ran into her.

"S-sorry Tenko!" I said helping her stand back up.
"It's ok! At least it wasn't a male!"
"H-hey would you be able to protect me? From a m-male." I asked, desperate for help.
"What degenerate is giving you trouble!?" She looked up for the challenge.
"K-Kokichi..."
"Oh... I mean I can try." She seemed a lot less up for the challenge now.
"Please! He-he's trying to kill me!"
"I'm on it!" Tenko walked behind me and stuck to my side.

Soon enough Kokichi came out of nowhere but he tried to steal my phone this time.
"Tenko!" I screamed. She was close behind me but not directly next to me. She ran up and grabbed the phone from Kokichi's tiny baby hands.
"What the hell! You can't use Tenko like that!" Kokichi yelled, You're so mean!" He walked off fake crying.
I looked to Tenko, "sorry about him."
"What'd you do to make him so mad?"
"Well, I'll tell you but you can't tell anyone! Ok?"
"I'll keep this a complete secret for you Miu!" I grabbed the phone from Tenko and pulled up my proof. "Woah! So Kokichi and Shuichi are dating?!"
"Yep! And I figured it all out with my amazing skills!" I said putting my hands on my hips. Tenko ran off but I'm not sure why. She was supposed to be protecting me!

Himiko's POV

I saw Tenko suddenly run directly at me.
"Nyah!?"
"Himiko! I have huge news! But you can't tell anyone! Miu told ME not to tell anyone so I shouldn't even be telling you!"
"Telling people is too much work anyways." I said sluggishly.
"Kokichi and Shuichi are dating! Miu even has proof!"
"Nyah! Dating? That is huge news."
"But remember you can't tell anyone!"
"Can't tell anyone what?" Angie asked as she walked into the room.
"I can't tell anyone Kokichi and Shuichi are dating." I said tiredly.
"Himiko! Angie is someone! You weren't supposed to tell her!"
"Atua tells me I have to spread the news!" Angie said running.
"Get back here!" Tenko yelled chasing after Angie. Kokichi walked into the living room suddenly so I decided to ask him about it.

"Hey are you and Shuichi dating?"
"No! Why would I-"
"Tenko said Miu has proof."
"Tenko knows!? I'm gonna kill Miu!"
"Neyh- so it's true!"
"N-no! I gotta go! Bye!" Kokichi ran off. He's becoming a really bad liar, must be the Shuichi in him.

Soon enough I heard a ton of other people talking about it. Ryoma and Kirumi, Korekiyo, Rantaro, Maki, Kaito was yelling. Everyone knew before the end of the day. I saw Kaede outside crying, I felt really bad for her. I understood why she was crying, I think everyone did. She liked Shuichi, a lot. I walked over to her and sat down. Miu came out soon after, she had ice cream.
"Sorry Himiko, I didn't know you were gonna be out here. Otherwise, I would've gotten you some ice cream too." Miu apologized.
"it's ok, I'm just here to help."
"I wonder where they are? I have seen Shuichi since this morning and I haven't seen Kokichi in a while either." Miu questioned. Kaede cried into Miu's shoulder.
"It's going to be ok Kaede! You're too good for him anyways!" I tried my best to comfort her.

Tsumugi burst through the door and walked outside, she looked happy.
"What's up with you?" I asked.
"My favorite ship just got confirmed! Isn't Saiouma just so cute!" Tsumugi beamed, causing Kaede to cry even louder. "Oh honey it's ok! You should've seen the chemistry they have, this was inevitable!" Tsumugi was really bad at trying to help.
"But I wanted Shuichi! What makes that little liar any more qualified to be Shuichi's significant other than me!?" Kaede seemed really mad... it made me a little worried.
"You know Kaede, Shuichi has turned you down multiple times." Tsumugi commented. Miu and I glared at her, "what?! It's true!"
"Can you leave!? You're such a nuisance." I said angrily.
"Sorry! I'm just here to tell you the truth!" Tsumugi got up and left.
"Don't listen to her Kaede, she doesn't know what she's talking about." Miu said.

The back door opened again and when I turned to see who it was I saw,
"Shuichi?!" Miu and I said in unison.
"Hey... can we talk, Kaede?" Shuichi asked shyly.
"What's there to talk about?!" Kaede yelled.
"Well I didn't think you'd take it this badly... I just want to talk things through."
"You two can go for a bit." Kaede said looking at Miu and me. So we left. Of course however we watched them through the door and listened in on their conversation.

"Listen I'm sorry." Shuichi said as if he really cared how she felt.
"Why him?" Kaede looked absolutely devastated.
"I just- I really like him, he makes me really happy."
"Have you even said I love you?!" Kaede stood up and got in Shuichi's face, "because you know, I've told you I love you!"
"We- we have." he looked nervous, "but I never said it back to you, I- I've turned you down a lot, I didn't want to break your heart but it's hard not to."
"I'm sorry I expected so much from you!" Kaede ran back inside crying leaving shuichi outside alone.
