Banke means : 'Teda." It is believed that krishna ji was Tede from 3 sides!

Bihari means Jo apne mein Magan Ho aur anand k sagar mein dooba!!
These 2 words perfectly defines krishna!!  Hence "banke bihari"
This name is used mainly in Mathura and vrindavan!
Aur jab bhgwan Shree krishna "apne hatho pe basuri lgaye Ho" "apni kamar Kadam k ped se tikaye ho" aur "apne paero mein per fasaaye Ho! " tbhi unko banke bihari Kha jata!

Story: jab Shree krishna Ka jnm hua tha toh woh bhut komal the.. Jab maiya yashoda unhe Phli baar Doodh pilane jaa rhi thi toh unhe Dar lga Ki unke sparsh se kanha ji dard hoga Islye unhone unhe god main nhi uthaya aur unhe bistar pr Lita kr khud Teda hokr Doodh pilane lgi.. Krishna drank 2 drops of the milk and was about to drink the 3rd one when nand baba ki behen sunanada said, " Bhabhi Bache ko phli baad Doodh Teda hokr nhi Pilate wrna jitni ghoot baccha piyega wah utna Teda hoga! " yeh  sunkar maiya yashoda abruptly got up but till then Krishna drank 3 drops that's why he's considered Teda from 3 sides it is also said "bihari" Unka Rashi Ka naam tha!!
.
“बाँके है नंद बाबा, और यशोमती, बांकी घड़ी जन्मे है बिहारी,
बाँके कन्हैया के बाँके ही भ्रात लड़ाके बड़े हलमुषलधारी
बांकी मिली दुल्हिन जग वन्दिनी और बाँके गोपाल के बाँके पुजारी
भक्तन दर्शन देन के कारण झाँकी झरोखा में बाँके बिहारी”

Among the thousands of names of Lord Krishna, Banke Bihari is one of the most popular and charming ones.                                                                                                                            The term Banke Bihari literally translates as Banke (the bent) and Bihari or Vihari (the enjoyer or the indweller). Krishna seems to have got this name since his most popular standing posture playing a flute is typically seen bent in three places.                             A very old reference to the bent posture of Kirshna occurs in Śrī Brahmasaḿhitā (verse 5.31) in which Lord Brhama praises Kirhsna thus, “I worship Govinda, the primeval Lord, round whose neck is swinging a garland of flowers beautified with the moon-locket, whose two hands are adorned with the flute and jeweled ornaments, who always revels in pastimes of love, whose graceful threefold-bending form of Śyāmasundara is eternally manifest.”                                                                           Threefold or Tri Bhanga postures are famous in classical dances and Shipshastra texts of the ancient India. Looking at the most famed standing posture of Krishna, we find the posture bent in three places namely the tilted head, the waist and the legs. Therefore, Krishna came to be called Banke Bihari, the Lord championing the stylistic thribhanga posture.                                                                                                                                             In most standing sculptures of Lord Krishna, we find these three bends gracefully depicted as also popularly found in the classical dances pertaining to Krishna. So, the name Banke Bihari could mean the most graceful indweller or inner enjoyer (Krishna) assuming the thribhanga (Banga or Banke) posture.                                                             Thus, The supreme one is also refereed to as Banke Bihari!
